Hey, I see you have it installed on an i7-860. Any tips for me, as I have the same processor? I'm stuck at Sierra, and haven't been to get anything past that going.

It's very possible. I thought I had booted from the external drive (HDD, not SSD), and selected it as the target for installation, but whatever I did wrong it worked out.

Most benchmarks seem to indicate that on average, tri-channel offers around 5-10% better performance. It's up to you to decide which is more important to you, price or performance/more memory.

Yeah, it's a known problem with iStat Menus 3.10. He has made some changes in there to key on the hardware identifier to figure out what sensors should be there. There are two workarounds: Go back to MacPro3,1[/*:m:3ad73xhx] Go back to iStat Menus 3.5[/*:m:3ad73xhx]

You still need either ATY_init.kext, or a custom version of the Chameleon bootloader along with GraphicsEnabler=yes. There are two versions of the bootloader you can use for this purpose, and they can be found here (this is the one I personally use) and here.

Speaking of Kabyl, have you seen this thread?He's got a single boot file that works for all the types of frame buffers. It tries to guess which one your card uses, and does pretty well at it, but even if it gets it wrong you can override with the "AtiFb" key in com.apple.boot.plist. It's worked...

That is not 100% true. If you use ATY_init, then yes, you're restricted to booting to 32-bit mode at this time. However, there are bootloaders out there that can replace ATY_init, and those do work in 64-bit mode, so it is possible.

You wouldn't happen to remember the details on this one, would you? Which drive, or which firmware would be nice. I have a Samsung drive that I'd like to get auto-sleep with, so this firmware upgrade would be great for me. Thanks.
