Thanks! I have absolutely no idea what I did differently this 128th time I installed Sierra, but this time the sound works, the 2nd display works, the resolution works, and everything is perfect! (Knock on wood!) Oh, and I did use iMac 14,2 after all.

Nope, only the YouTube video that I'd opened up and paused for several hours played the audio. Everything else is silent until I reboot. :banghead:

I tried updating it for about the 7th time, and it seems to be working now. It may have been caused by a faulty slice in a RAID array. I'll keep an eye on it, and keep you posted.
