I looked up everywhere as well. My assumption is that due to the new nature of this issue is why there is no clear solution present online yet. My optical drive is the OptiPlex 5050 OEM DVD drive.

That is exactly how I had these settings and my computer was still throwing kernel panics, sometimes hours after system startup.

How do you disable power savings mode in Catalina? I have tried to uncheck "Put hard disks to sleep when possible" knowing that my optical drive uses the same interface as my other drives, and the issue persists. In addition, a brief research couldn't provide me with a command in terminal I can use.
