Update - still having the same black screen problem Managed to get security update installed and build 17G10021 installed. Downloaded and installed correct web drivers - working correctly. Cleared NVRAM and reset. Still got the black screen if I boot with HDMI plugged in :crazy:

Yes now I am getting the 'MacOS could not be installed' when I go through to the installer from the update. Could this be because of kexts in S/L/E?

Thank you P1LGRIM- I tried that already though. Updated security updates both through App Store and manual download and install - tried installing SecUpdate 005/006/007 and nothing seems to change the build number. Ill look further into why this is
