How to Create a macOS Sonoma Installation USB

Just curious... Does anyone know if this method will work on an ASUS Prime z390a? Have I9-9900k, Vega 64. Have tried other methods and no dice as of yet.... gets stuck at first install loading screen.

    Do I need new DSDT?

Gonna give it a try. Got a bootable clone and gonna try the upgrade route first. Gotta wait till I get some projects done. May be a couple of days.

    Do I need new DSDT?

I remember a lot of the old school stuff, but with the AMD graphics cards on older systems I don’t think that there’s a fix. Set up my first Hackintosh in 2010. A lot has changed.

    Do I need new DSDT?

I’m using a 650gtx on the oldest one and 770gtx on the other two currently and there should be no problems with support as they are Metal capable. It is my understanding that they both will work in Catalina as well with the “inject Nvidia “ in the clover plist. There’s a list here...

    Do I need new DSDT?

I believe that you are right about what you suggest about DSDT’s and newer systems, especially with the usage of UEFI bios instead of the legacy bios. The issue that I am facing is that I have 2 very old systems (G31M and a P35 chipsets, LGA775 , NON-UEFI) running High Sierra and I need to get...

    Do I need new DSDT?

I don't recall exactly which patches/changes were applied as I had someone else do that. I REALLY don't know enough of that specific area of programming to deal with it but I am attempting to learn. Just not there yet. I do know that I could not get my messages or FaceTime to work until I had a...

    Do I need new DSDT?

So to be sure, If I change my BIOS by overclocking my processor I need to get a newly extracted and “Modified” DSDT. If I change my video card from a Nvidia 8800gtx to a gtx650 I need to get a newly extracted and Modified DSDT. But I really shouldn’t worry because my Desktop (G31M-ES2L) may not...

    Do I need new DSDT?

I plan to install Mojave on new drive and change the video card from a 8800 to a 650ti. Do I need a newly modified DSDT for this hardware change?

Mojave 10.14.6 Security Update 2020-002 Safe?

Do I need to do anything after installing this security update? Like run Multibeast again? I have never had sleep issues as I don't let most of my computers sleep, at least the ssd's and NVME types. Anything with a spinning platter gets to sleep.

    Old S'Kool G4 Modded

Thanks, you are so right. Newer hardware would give it a pretty good kick up and allow it to run at least Mojave. Still holding out on making the jump to Catalina. At least till some more of the bugs are worked out. USB 3 is a must!

    Easy successful NVMe Mojave installation

Just took the time to read your entire G5 adventure. All 13 pages. Was the problem with the no power on issue the hp m2? I have seen bad hardware cause a freeze on boot causing systems to full stop in the bios, but never a no power on mode. (except for a old cd burner that had a short in it that...

    Easy successful NVMe Mojave installation

@craighazan I did not mean to sound condescending, if it came across that way, my sincere apologies. The only point of my post was to point out that there is an easy way to install on a NVME drive that is basically drop dead easy. I realize that there are a million ways to do this.... this is...

    Easy successful NVMe Mojave installation

Like I said previously, Not all manufacturers decided to put the NVME in their bios. You may want to read that part again so that you can fully grasp the concept. There are many builds up here including some golden builds that did not support NVME and had to have their bios modified to be able...

    Easy successful NVMe Mojave installation

Thank you for you input. Modifications to the bios is only necessary on systems whose bios does not natively support the NVME protocols and drives. With that being said, The support for NVME has been avalible since the implementation of the Intel 77 series chipsets and has been incorporated into...

    Easy successful NVMe Mojave installation

I just wanted to put it out there. There is an easy way to install the OS on a NVME drive that requires very little extra work and no terminal experience, no extra kexts and no extra fidgeting around in the OS. I have tried it on a couple of different NVME drives (Plextor M8Pe, XPG SX8200 Pro...

    Old S'Kool G4 Modded

Project: OLD S’KOOL NOTE: This is a build that I did a while back and figured I would put it up here so that it may inspire others as to what you can do with just some old stuff. The build still exists and works great, just looking around for some newer old stuff to throw into the case. I...
