Low Metal Score at fresh boot with "Pro" SMBIOS, could you try?

"Other" tests do very specific tests. GB does a range of synthetic tests. That why it's better to do real-life App tests...like the Bruce test or measure time to encode a clip and and ignore GB. That is, don't get hung up on GB. It has been reported many times and wherever the problem is, it is...

    APGM Injector and the RX580

shikigva is now only used by whatevergreen for macOS 10.15 and below. For macOS 11+, it uses unfairgva. In my recent testing, using unfairgva=1 is the best choice for DRM & H/W encode/decode with SMBIOS ID's other than iMacPro1,1 with Polaris dGPU (and iGPU disabled). For iMacPro1,1 unfairgva...

    AMD Radeon Performance Enhanced SSDT

See my other reply to your post. It's a known issue with Polaris GPU.

Low Metal Score at fresh boot with "Pro" SMBIOS, could you try?

It's a known apple issue with Polaris GPU. iMac20,1 does not have this issue. There's no solution. Measure real world Apps (FCPX, VideoProc, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc, etc) to see if it is a real problem for you as synthetic benchmarks are not what people use all day.

Official List of Apple Macs that can run macOS Monterey

Even if you can run macOS 12 on your Intel hack, some new features may not work. according to this: Portrait Mode blurred backgrounds in FaceTime videos Live Text for copying and pasting, looking up, or translating text within photos An interactive 3D globe of Earth in the Maps app More...

Radeon RX 4XX/5XX standalone system, AMDRadeonX4250.kext (GVA support H264) does not support HEVC HW

DVD ??? What's a DVD ?? Never tried transcoding anything to MPEG2. It probably will not work as GPU's do not support "legacy" codecs

    [Success] Gigabyte Z490M Gaming X - i9 10850K - RX580 - OpenCore 0.9.1 4k - Ventura 13.3.1 - Video Editing

Great build. Well done. BTW, your signature for your First hack seems incorrect. You have: "First Hack z77 GA-Z77X-UP5-TH | i7 4770K | AORUS Radeon RX 580" But i7-4770K cannot physically fit on a Z77X-UP5. I think you meant i7-3770K ?

    [GUIDE] Atari VCS (2020) Console

Great detailed guide. However, you should change the first sentence as it is wrong. It implies some kind of virtual machine on macOS to run Atari VCS. It should read "This is a guide for booting macOS on the Atari VCS natively." It not a guide on how to boot Atari VCS on macOS. Keep up the...

Radeon RX 4XX/5XX standalone system, AMDRadeonX4250.kext (GVA support H264) does not support HEVC HW

I have not found a way of enabling HEVC in FCPX/Compressor on a hack that uses the AMD GPU only. There is no magic kext. Those Apple Apps appear to be bypassing standard API's on the macOS or using some sort of back door to encode & decode regarding HEVC. It is bizarre. That's the case with...

Radeon RX 4XX/5XX standalone system, AMDRadeonX4250.kext (GVA support H264) does not support HEVC HW

Well done. The reason you have audio issues is that you added device properties to inject layoutid=1 and then in boot-args you used alcid=13. boot-args overrides layoutid value. Just use boot-args method and delete the device-property. Also you have way too many unnecessary device-properties...

Radeon RX 4XX/5XX standalone system, AMDRadeonX4250.kext (GVA support H264) does not support HEVC HW

Radeon RX 4XX/5XX standalone system, AMDRadeonX4250.kext (GVA support H264) does not support HEVC HW

Thx but it is unrelated issue. I do not have a problem with the displays and unfairgva is more related to DRM which I do not worry/care about (as I do not play Netflix, prime, appletv, etc on a Mac but on my TV). The HEVC issue is related to the Apple apps. It's works on a real iMacPro1,1...

Radeon RX 4XX/5XX standalone system, AMDRadeonX4250.kext (GVA support H264) does not support HEVC HW

First of all, HEVC encoding on RX5xx GPU does NOT work with FCPX or Compressor, only H.264 works (even with iMacPro1,1 Model ID). H/W decode of both H.264 & HEVC works fine. It does work with VideoProc. VideoProc will use the RX570 for encoding H.264 & H.265 (HEVC) but not Apple's Apps...

    [Updated] Stork's Thunderbolt Build: i5-3570K | GA-Z77X-UP5-TH | GTX 760

Yes & No. Yes it is the same but No it is not safe/permanent. If your BIOS gets screwed or you loose your config, then obviously you loose what you have saved there. Therefore it is pointless doing that. That is why you should save the profile on an EXTERNAL device. I do both. Think about...

    [Updated] Stork's Thunderbolt Build: i5-3570K | GA-Z77X-UP5-TH | GTX 760

USB3 config in the BIOS got screwed up ? Like XHCI handover got disabled ? Or USB3 got disabled ? After setting the BIOS config the way I want, I always save the BIOS Profile onto one of the EFI drives and backup onto a USB stick. This way if the BIOS config ever screws up, I simply load the...

    [Updated] Stork's Thunderbolt Build: i5-3570K | GA-Z77X-UP5-TH | GTX 760

I've experienced BIOS issues. A few times I had seen BIOS configs wiped. A couple of times I had complete corruption of the BIOS. I had to flick the BIOS switch to Backup and reboot and then reflash the Main BIOS. Once BOTH BIOS's got corrupted and I had to purchase a CH41A external flasher to...

    Power mac g5 front i/o

There's NO Mic Input on the G5 front I/O. It's just stereo output. Audio Sense pin on the G5 does not work on an ATX motherboard. If you plugin a headphone jack into the G5 socket, then you have to manually switch the audio output to your headphones via Sound Prefs. See here.
