When choosing a model to spoof/fakeID does it have to be a full match? For example, if I have a Pitcairn W5000 FirePro am I prevented from spoofing cos it has 768 shaders and the R9 M290X Mac Edition has 1024 shaders? I note people say spoof an R9 270 (Pitcairn OR Curacao) to an R9 270x...
Maybe open your own thread? I mean 4 pages of back n forth and you NOT taking advice isnt much fun for others
Now, anyone seen any mention in Ventura betas about new RX7900XT and RX7900XTX by any chance?
Hi, if you are still using the Acer Aspire, and have it sorta working I'd love to see a write up. Dug my old thing out and wanted to put MacOS on it.. last time i did that was probably Mountain Lion so its presumably all OpenCore now?
@Going Bald thanks... I had seen it and didn't like it... but I have solved now
I found via Google that simply adding NTFS.efi to Drivers folder in Clover means it picks up the XP install correctly and after some messing with Clover config I now have
Linux Mint XFCE with custom entry so it...
Hi, back again. I was booting happily with Win10 & XP on an MBR disk and MacOS & Linux on UEFI/GPT disk with Clover just booting everything in UEFI mode (boot to Windows 10 and you get a menu for XP or 10) but for "reasons" I had to move Win10 to UEFI and that disk alone (so lost XP). Now...
I do have Legacy boot enabled and UEFI (its an HP BIOS so nothing normally named) but it makes no difference if I don't since Clover is booted in UEFI mode. I'm happy with being able to boot to Windows Metro Bootloader and have a 3s wait till it boots Win10 if I dont tell it otherwise.
My hero returns :). I would have responded earlier but I had to re-do my whole Mac drive (so lost my Ubuntu for now). I tried changing the Legacy setting from PBR to LegacyBiosDefault after reading here...
Me again and after some special @Going Bald help, please!
I have 2 SSDs.
One GPT/UEFI MacOS/Linux - works fine but boots in UEFI
One MBR/Legacy WinXP/10 - NEEDS to be MBR/Legacy for WinXP
I hate having to boot into BIOS and disable Legacy for Mac/Linux or vice versa. Clover sees two Legacy...
Thanks (for ongoing replies).
AROS requires MBR so that wont work. I have managed to find a low pro SATA card so added 2 more ports so I can now put each OS on separate SSD, but IF I could not... Windows will either need to be MBR so it can share with AROS or Mac & Linux will need to share. For...
Box only supports 3 SATA devices... One is the DVD drive so 2 SSDs is my limit.. Unless I pop a SATA card in I guess. I've never liked to use OS drives on anything other than Mobo SATA headers though... I guess I could use the DVD on an internal controller.
Thanks, Startech no good for expansion slots as its a full height thing and SFF case has half height slots. I guess I could use the front 3.5" bay but I'm not keen on swapping HDDs as I intend to have the machine hidden away somewhat.... I'd thought by putting 2 OS on each SSD I might avoid some...
Hi
I may be misunderstanding how this all works so go easy (please!)
I have an HP Prodesk 400 G1 (Haswell, with Kepler GT730). I have two SSDs (identical) and want to be able to boot Windows10, MacOS Catalina, Ubuntu Linux (most likely or a flavour of Ubuntu) and an OS called AROS...
I am wondering if something has changed with Windows and whether the people posting advice are not aware. I have had this working fine before but could not today. I don't have Fast Startup option as I disable Hibernation completely with "powercfg -h off"
I tried 3 different methods to fix and...
