I was having real problems with this mobo and getting bluetooth to work. I read that the built in card should work but I now realise it simply is reliable and worse it was causing booting issues/kernel panics.
I removed the card and opted for one of these cards instead which works well...

Thanks, I've done this and added a USB bluetooth dongle and it does seem to have made a difference.
Because bluetooth has been inconsistent it's difficult to tell what's cause and effect when troubleshooting.
In the past the bluetooth dongle has worked but had stopped recently.

Thanks for the input on this thread, I've been able to get iMessage working which I've been struggling with for (literally) years!
I also seem to have AirDrop working but I'm unable to add bluetooth devices and handoff doesn't seem to be functional either...
Solved the last issue I was experiencing on my new hackintosh, my additions were:
