    Strange problem with gsync

This is something of an old thread but I think you're on to something here. I have been having a problem where macOS will work fine with 2 monitors, one g-sync and one not. It'll work fine some of the time and then if I go to Windows and back to macOS, it'll freeze. I've tried everything I could...

[Solved] Portrait orientation not being remembered on restart

How bizarre. I just uninstalled USB overdrive (unrelated mouse hover issues) and restarted and my portrait orientation was respected upon logging in. Hopefully it'll maintain this position.

[Solved] Portrait orientation not being remembered on restart

I have one of my two monitors in portrait orientation. When restarting, it’s always in landscape mode and I have to open Display preferences every time to get it right. Primary display is landscape, connected via DisplayPort. Secondary display is supposed to be in portrait, connected via...

    Nearly frozen Hackintosh. Photos.app problem?

Thanks for the reply. But it’s not that. My computer was idle all night and it was fine this morning. And when it lags, it’s essentially unresponsive except for the mouse cursor moving until I reboot.

    Nearly frozen Hackintosh. Photos.app problem?

I successfully built my hackintosh over the past several days. It has been running great until tonight. The computer became so unresponsive that the only way for me to even restart was to hit the reset button on my computer. After a couple of reboots, I narrowed it down to being a problem when...

Trying, and failing, to install Lion

I updated it to F12 and I'm still getting the same error. I used the DSDT database to get the right DSDT file for my mobo and rev and installed it with MultiBeast. No dice. I'll try one more time to run the Lion installer and then xMove with the newly updated mobo and bios but I'm not too hopeful.

Trying, and failing, to install Lion

I've got several but they're all in my office and I just keep forgetting to bring them home. D'oh! I'll try to remember tomorrow. Do you think that's the issue?

Trying, and failing, to install Lion

So you're saying have my Lion partition on a different drive? I suppose I could do that but I don't see how that would work to deal with the problem.

Trying, and failing, to install Lion

Just a bump to see if anyone has any possible answers for me. I'm stumped.

Trying, and failing, to install Lion

I followed the very helpful guide here on how to use xMove to get a Lion installer partition. I keep getting stuck on the grey Apple screen. When in verbose mode, I can see where I'm getting stuck: Sound assertion "0 != result" failed in AppleHDADriver at line 1018 goto Exit Sound assertion...

Homesharing and AppleTV 2 screwed up

That was probably as unhelpful as your post was helpful. You're still batting .500 in this thread, though. :) I figured it out. In one of the articles on enabling it, there was a .plist to restart the service in promiscuous mode at boot. Here is that post.

Homesharing and AppleTV 2 screwed up

How do I get promiscuous mode to last through a reboot?

Homesharing and AppleTV 2 screwed up

That did it! Thank you so much. I can finally use my hackintosh with printopia, too. Seems like Bonjour was just borked until that little fix. You have no idea how much you've helped.

Homesharing and AppleTV 2 screwed up

I'm running a Hackintosh on 10.6.6, vanilla install (I think installed with the lifehacker method from a while back). I can't get homesharing to my AppleTV 2 working. It works with Windows, so it's not a network problem. I just installed Lnx2Mac's beta (.67) RealTek drivers for my NIC (8111D)...

    Help me spend $600

Right now, I'm down to figuring out what video card I should get. I've got just over $100 in my budget, but I can go a little over that. The complicating factor is that I've got a 24" Apple Cinema Display (mini-DP connection) that I'd like to use. In looking around, it looks like getting a...

    Help me spend $600

The motherboard is deactivated at newegg. Have you got a replacement choice? I know that the mobo is the most important part of the process in getting a compatible OS X install, so I want to make sure I pick the right one.

    Help me spend $600

I've built a hackintosh before, my current i7 920 rig. It's great and all the power I need. I would like to build a more budget minded rig this time around. I want to be able to play a few games in Windows (SCII, L4D2, some other Steam titles) and I would like it to be quiet. It's going in my...
