Mouse LAG/FREEZE/HANG using new RT 5700 XT GPU

Yep. My monitor only has a resolution of 3440x1440, which is less than 4K. At this revolution, even DP1.1 manages 60Hz. No solution for 4K displays.

Mouse LAG/FREEZE/HANG using new RT 5700 XT GPU

I'm also using a 5700XT, an "XFX Radeon RX 5700 XT Thicc II" to be exact. I cannot remember having the mouse lag issue with my old Intel mobo and CPU, but with my new Ryzen 3600X I am also experiencing the mouse lag. I'm using a 4K or an ultra wide UWQHD 100Hz monitor, DP cable. Using an HDMI...

[Beta release] NativeDisplayBrightness 0.0.5 testing [updated]

I think that'd be quite simple because it would use all the same APIs to communicate with the monitor and to show the system HUD. Maybe we can do something about it in the future. I don't have a monitor with built-in speakers right now.

[Beta release] NativeDisplayBrightness 0.0.5 testing [updated]

Just a quick update on this project: I'm planning on some new features for multi-monitor support. Addressing problems with multiple monitors with different brightness levels is not as easy as I'd hoped for and might take some time till it's done. I've done some research on the keyboard...

[Beta release] NativeDisplayBrightness 0.0.5 testing [updated]

I only have one monitor right now, but I have heard from a user that it works with multiple monitors too (only some support DDC/CI). Also, you should at least see the brightness HUD, even if your monitor doesn't support DDC/CI. Do you use an Apple keyboard? Try Fn+F1 / Fn+F2 or use the tool...

[Beta release] NativeDisplayBrightness 0.0.5 testing [updated]

New version 0.0.4 is out which fixes the dock auto-hide issue (hopefully) and a shutdown freezing bug.

[Beta release] NativeDisplayBrightness 0.0.5 testing [updated]

Okay so this is how to help me figure the apple brightness keys out: (@Dashy @Applementalist ?) Download the attached application and execute it. Go to the keyboards tab and then press the brightness up and down keys. "Key Up" and "Key Down" events should appear in the app. Please take a...

Thanks for the bug report. I have absolutely no idea how my app is causing this problem, but I will look into it.

[Beta release] NativeDisplayBrightness 0.0.5 testing [updated]

@Dashy If you're up for some testing, I'm sure we could get the brightness keys to work. I just need someone with an apple keyboard to record the key codes with a special application. About the lag you're experiencing, this does indeed depend on your monitor. I have an idea that could reduce...

[Beta release] NativeDisplayBrightness 0.0.5 testing [updated]

Thanks for the feedback. I didn't know the keyboard activation would be so problematic, but it doesn't surprise me to be honest. I am using a non-apple keyboard with my hackintosh. That means, my function keys are actually recognized as F1-12 keys and not as special-os-function keys like on...

[Beta release] NativeDisplayBrightness 0.0.5 testing [updated]

Are you talking about switching the monitor's input source? This is theoretically possible, but I haven't tried it myself (yet)

[Beta release] NativeDisplayBrightness 0.0.5 testing [updated]

Do you have your function keys configured as shortcut keys maybe (like on apple keyboards)? Or is another application using the same global keyboard shortcuts? You can also try registering F1 / F2 as a shortcut in some application and see if it works Bensge

[Beta release] NativeDisplayBrightness 0.0.5 testing [updated]

Hello everyone, After getting my brand-new hackintosh up and running, I figured it was time for a small programming project. I missed the ability to control my display brightness with the F1 / F2 keys from my MacBook, so I wrote a small application to do just that on a hackintosh. Well, I know...

question about monitors and max. resolution

Hey powerpcg5, While I don't know your specific graphics card and can't help you with that, I thought I'd give you a little advice on the display resolution. I have a retina MacBook 15" with a resolution of 2880x1800. One might think content would look tiny on this display, but it's not true...
