[Guide] HP ProBook 430 G6 (Whiskey Lake)

Are you at native resolution? Or using HiDPI scaling? I didn't like how fonts (and the overall UI) looked with the latter. Also, you can toggle font smoothing in System Preferences > General, see if it makes a difference for you.

[Guide] HP ProBook 430 G6 (Whiskey Lake)

Do you see how the gradient isn't smooth, but actually has bands of different colors? It's called banding (and it's not caused by my camera). It is most noticeable on Launchpad/Mission Control because of blur and transparency, but it happens on any gradient (UI, media playback, desktop...

Yup, I tried a lot of different settings but haven't managed to fix it yet. Tried patching and injecting many different EDIDs and a few framebuffer variations but no success.

I wrote a patch for battery status, apply it with maciASL to your DSDT. Seems to work fine, no guarantees though. It's here: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-how-to-patch-dsdt-for-working-battery-status.116102/post-2021126

[Guide] How to patch DSDT for working battery status

I made a patch for my HP ProBook 430 G6. Seems to be working normally, haven't tested extensively yet though. Here it is in case anyone is interested: into device label EC0 code_regex BDC,\s+16 replace_matched begin DC0,8,DC1,8 end; into device label EC0 code_regex BFC,\s+16 replace_matched...

[Guide] USB power property injection for Sierra (and later)

Great, thanks for your help. Is there a way to enable the extra current capabilities through the internal USB hub?

It is an internal hub, here are the updated ioregs:

[Guide] USB power property injection for Sierra (and later)

Ok, I understand. The iPhone is plugged into a hub then, I just wasn't sure if the UIAC configuration was correct since it showed "built in" under the iPhone item. Is it possible to get the extra current through the hub? Or does it work only for ports directly connected to the bus?

[Guide] USB power property injection for Sierra (and later)

The hub is just the front hub of the PC case. I'll attach screenshots of system information when the phone is plugged into the front port (through the hub) and directlly on one the motherboard back ports (which works correctly). front: back:

[Guide] USB power property injection for Sierra (and later)

Changing it to 255 shows the iPhone as a "built-in" device, but no changes in current. I thought you only had to set UsbConnector=255 if the device was connected directly to the usb header, like a wifi/bt card.

Video skips when I close a Safari tab

Same, if i'm watching something on twitch and close a tab, my video skips a bit. It's not that big of a deal, but it is annoying.

[Guide] USB power property injection for Sierra (and later)

It is connected to an internal usb 3 header. Just noticed that it is working properly on the ports on the back. Any way to get it working on the front ports?

[Guide] USB power property injection for Sierra (and later)

Few weeks late but I couldn't get it to work with my previous configuration, even after setting Devices/USB/Inject = true. HighCurrent true/false also didn't seem to make a difference. I ended up changing my SMBIOS to iMac 18,3 to match my Kaby Lake/Z270 build, and am now trying to make it work...

[Guide] USB power property injection for Sierra (and later)

I've recently created a proper SSDT for UIAC and it was successful, but for some reason the power property injections haven't worked. I can see AppleBusPowerController under EC in IOReg, and it should be enough since I'm using iMac 14,2 as SMBIOS. But when charging my iPhone I don't get any...

iTunes doesn't seem to crash anymore, using Shiki 2.1.2, -shikigva=12 (not sure if still necessary) on i7 7700K w/ HD630 + GTX 970. Looking good, thanks vit9696! EDIT: full hardware acceleration working too, forgot to mention :)
