This is the framebuffer patch that I am using:
It sets the pipes for all connection entrys to 18, keeping the LVDS type connector 0x00 (internal display)
and the DP type connector 0x05 (USB-C). The two other connectors do not seem to be connected anyways, so I disabled them (index -1).
Then it is possible that you have not configured the port correctly. Did you turn off Thunderbolt Security in BIOS? Additionally, do you see the JHL 6340 Tunderbolt 3 USB 3.1 Controller (C-Step) entry in Hackintool under USB?
External displays will work when using the USB-C connector of the laptop. The mDP and HDMI out are directly wired to the Nvidia GPU and since it is turned off these ports will not work. USB-C however is not connected to the GPU, but is handled by the iGPU of the CPU and thus can be used to drive...
Apple has the sleep/wake trick on their website aswell see "Detect your display". I have searched in the logs and what I found was in the logs when it is working:
and when it is not working:
I don't know exactly what that means, but a notable difference is the line:
[IGFB][INFO ]...
After a fresh boot I do not need the system to sleep (white led) to get the monitor working, it is enough to put the internal display to sleep (with a green led all the time) with a hot corner and then to replug the cable while the internal screen is still off. While this saves some time it is...
This is really weird behaviour, I have played around with it a bit and what I found to also work for USB-C monitors with high refresh rates and resolutions is to pull the
cable after boot and use a hot corner to get only the internal display to sleep (not the whole system), then to replug the...
I can confirm the DGPU has stopped waking after sleep, and no black screen on wake anymore on Early 2019 model. This is a game changer for me, thanks @takki!
I am running voltageShift with -130 -40 -130 0 0 0 0
Additionally I have used OneKeyCpuFriend to generate a low power profile with disabled turbo boost
I had the exact same issues with DW1560 in windows, got it fixed by doing what I described here:
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/bcm94352z-dw1560-causes-windows-10-lockup-freeze.256456/page-3
I have experienced similar behaviour after waking from sleep. The "solution" for me was to switch to igfx in BIOS before using mac and only switching back to SG when using windows.
Thanks! I have updated theese kexts and it seems to work.
When waking up from sleep I also get a black screen, which goes away when I close and open the lid again. Something is off but I can not get behind it.
For me the audio problems are not the only thing that are odd about my build.
On top of the audio problems the system would sometimes straight up not boot after a restart, verbose mode shows, that it is a timeout. I thought that this may be caused by the modded bluetooth and wifi dw1560 card...
I have measured the battery life to be around 5.5 hours with medium screen brightness and moderate web browsing. Sounds ok to me. I don't know what the battery life is without the undervolt and CPUFriend, but from what I read it seems to be more like 3-4 hours.
EDIT: I use the Samsung 970 EVO...
Hey, I was experiencing this issue as well, however it seems to only happen when the system is not using the network, at least with me, the fix for me was to disable the PCI-E power management in the powerprofile:
1. go to power plan settings
2. go to the advanced settings
3. got to PCI Express...
I have looked into the cpu power management as I want my laptop to be silent in macOS at all times. With the initial configuration the cpu newer seems to drop below 1.2GHz. What I found out was that the one-key-cpu-friend https://github.com/stevezhengshiqi/one-key-cpufriend works wonders here...
I have almost everything running on my 2019 rtx 2070 blade, but the sound would not work some times. It's a very strange bug because it will work some times and then after booting into windows and going back to macOS it will stop working. When I try to restart macOS then, it will hang in the...
Everything works fine, this is by far faster than any mac i have ever seen. But there is one very annoying thing. My Soundcard gives me 2.1 audio i'd like to have 5.1 but i can live with that. Other than the fact that the mic does not seem to work... i have installed many custom kext files but...
