    Stork's MyHero II Build: ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z370 HERO X - i7-8700K - AMD RX 580 - Thunderbolt 3

Thanks for the tip about SleepAid, I will give it a try and see if I can track down what's occasionally giving me issues. About the graphic switching, I'm used to the short switch like you mentioned, but in this case it was taking some 30 seconds of blank idle active screen after the switch. I...

Has anyone with this build upgraded to Ventura ? I did a few weeks ago and it works kinda ok, besides some sporadic issues waking up from sleep (not really reproducibles, most of the times it can sleep and wake up normally) and a very weird thing happening on boot: Progress bar goes 1/3 in, then...

Thanks, I didn't knew it was so widespread and acknowledged. Looks like picking up another Samsung 970 wasn't a good idea so.

Hello everyone! I have this build and yesterday updated succesfully to Monterey 12.3 from Big Sur. Previously updated OpenCore to 0.79 and the latest Lilu/Whatever/Alc/etc and did a full mirror backup to a second NVME using CCC "legacy bootable copy", which was something i didn't tested yet...

    Stork's MyHero II Build: ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z370 HERO X - i7-8700K - AMD RX 580 - Thunderbolt 3

@ed.stein i was finally able to do a proper port mapping without the need of USBInjectALL.. When i disabled USBPorts.kext and applied the XHCI port limit Hackintool could see the full set of ports, even though many of them didn't actually work. But knowing beforehand which one i needed was...

I think i did a mistake .. If HS01 AND SS01 are from the same physical USB3 connector, type should be USB3 on both right ?

Well, i somehow managed to fix it: I noticed Hackintool already displayed all the available ports beyond the 15 limit without USBInjectAll, even though some of them didn't work because falling out of the range. I recovered an old .ASL file containing the mapping of the ports i did in Clover, so...

Thanks both for the reply. I didn't have success with the suggested method, adding USBInjectALL to the existing configuration seem to totally break my USB setup, at the point that it can't detect any device. @ed.stein your EFI folder already contains a USBPorts.kext, i tried both leaving it...

Hello !! I've been using this build with Clover since a few years and decided to finally switch to OpenCore / Big Sur. I did a try with @ed.stein EFI folder on an USB drive and got a proper boot, so decided to use it on my main drive and update to Big Sur. So far almost everything works...

    Stork's MyHero II Build: ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z370 HERO X - i7-8700K - AMD RX 580 - Thunderbolt 3

Today, I decided to make the switch to Catalina using this build. After the obvious update of Clover and kexts to the latest revision, I found myself unable to boot into the install because of error AE_NOT_FOUND (20160930/dswload2-274) Some research showed me that USB power property injection...

@Stork , @pastrychef thanks for your feedback. Now that I have a Thunderbolt 3 cable in my hands, I can confirm. Target Disk Mode works perfectly if connected with a TB3 cable to the USB-C of the Asus Maximus X. MacBook starts up with both TB3 and USB icons floating around the screen, then finds...

Hello, I've been using this build for a bit more than a year now, everything is perfect except for a recent problem which is bothering me.. The USB-C connector (ASMedia) on the motherboard works correctly if i put an USB-C hub in it and then plug some USB devices. BUT, I cannot connect a new...

I had the same doubt. I only managed to find one of those supposed "lite" rx580. what's different is the part number: Lite is usually 11265-06-20G while the old one is 11265-05-20G. You can see both version under specifications on...

I don't want to create false news, but I also had random crashes using FCPX with a Sapphire Pulse 580 8GB, and also some sporadic random freeze during general use, with no kernel panic and no error in console. I decided to try not using Orinoco frame buffer, and let the system pickup it...

I had the same problem, twice. First time, it turned out to be the internal USB going from my water cooler to the motherboard. If you have one, remove it, it won't be useful anyway unless you plan to run windows on the same machine and control the pump configuration from dedicated software...

    Mojave 10.4.1 Handoff stopped working

Indeed it is, i have a proper SSDT so the bluetooth is working. Now i'm puzzled; I had this page open on my phone and the magic icon popped up in the dock, without any change at all to my config. Rebooted my machine and Handoff is still working, i've been even able to use the hotspot and...

Nice one ! I already implemented my ssdt, so take this as a general suggestion .. To stay in the 15 port limit you have to sacrifice something (likely internal connectors), wouldn't be nice to also post on github the .DSL with a brief explanation (or maybe a link to Rehabman guide) so one could...

    Mojave 10.4.1 Handoff stopped working

I updated the perfectly working test install from 10.3.6 to 10.4.1 and hotspot/handoff stopped working again. Any idea on how should this one be debugged ?
