<< Solved >> Installed Intel NIC = Total Chaos!

Thanks for the response. This put me on the right path. OS X had assigned en4 to the Intel NIC card I installed. Once I changed it back to en0, all was well! For others who might encounter this, below is the YouTube video that helped me solve the issue. Many thanks for the guidance!

<< Solved >> Installed Intel NIC = Total Chaos!

I was having issues with both my onboard Atheros ethernet, and a TP-Link PCIe ethernet card, with both regularly dropping the connection. The Atheros did it randomly every 15 minutes or so and then would return after 20 seconds; the TP-Link would just drop dead any time it did anything intensive...

A Beginner's Guide to Creating a Custom USB SSDT

Yes, the port numbers were a total mess. IOReg was essentially impossible to use. If it ever did highlight which port I had plugged something into (which was rare), then it would take about two minutes of SBOD between refreshes. I eventually found another port discovery tool/script elsewhere...

A Beginner's Guide to Creating a Custom USB SSDT

I followed the guide to generate my SSDT, but when I boot with my SSDT_USB file (attached) none of my USB 3.0 ports appear in IORegistryExplorer. (The USB 3.0 ports work great, though, with the port limit removal patch in place and no SSDT loaded). My MB is a Gigabyte GA-Z97X-Gaming 5, using a...

    macOS 10.14.2 Update

Did this update take a long time for anyone? I did all the usual, booted first from the install partition, that seemed to run ok, but now the reboot back into the main working partition is taking forever. Stuck at the progress bar and Apple logo for 20 minutes now. I know it was a large update...

[SOLVED] Upgraded to RX 580 from GTX 970, One Issue

I successfully upgraded to 10.14.1 this morning. The process was smooth and uneventful. Everything is working great. The only single issue I'm now having is that, every 10-15 minutes or so, my network card drops all connectivity (both Internet and LAN). After about 20-30 seconds, connectivity...

[SOLVED] Upgraded to RX 580 from GTX 970, One Issue

OK, thanks. I won't bother with sleep. I've let the machine run 24/7 for two years now, only sleeping the monitors. No need to change that now.

[SOLVED] Upgraded to RX 580 from GTX 970, One Issue

It's been so long now, I forgot why I was using 14,2, but it was to get something working, I remember that. I think it might even have been iMessage and the other iCloud services. (They were working fine for a very long time with 14,2 as my setting.) I've never had sleep work properly for me...

[SOLVED] Upgraded to RX 580 from GTX 970, One Issue

Well, what can I say? You're a genius. It worked on the first try after I installed your EFI folder and implemented your BIOS changes. Apple locked my account and made me change my iCloud password and re-enter it in 50 different locations, but that's a small price to pay. All three monitors are...

[SOLVED] Upgraded to RX 580 from GTX 970, One Issue

Thank you again. I have a spare SSD installed in my system, so I'll install your EFI folder and try it from there with your recommended BIOS settings.

[SOLVED] Upgraded to RX 580 from GTX 970, One Issue

Thank you for the effort. I appreciate it greatly. However, this configuration also will not complete the OS X boot once the Dell 30" DVI monitor is connected. It boots fine without that monitor connected (I am using it now with the two Dislpayport monitors). The behaviour was slightly...

[SOLVED] Upgraded to RX 580 from GTX 970, One Issue

I was able to get to this and try it tonight. No luck. Placed the kext files in 10.13 and Other (just in case). I tried it with and without the suggested boot arguments. Same behaviour. I currently have iGPU disabled, although I don't think this would matter. Any other possibilities? Thanks.

[SOLVED] Upgraded to RX 580 from GTX 970, One Issue

I tried the instructions contained in this post: Radeon RX 570 and RX 580, how good is the native support? I enabled iGPU in the BIOS, uninstalled the Nvidia driver and manager, and I even tried adding WhateverGreen kext into my High Sierra and Other folders. The behaviour remains exactly the...

[SOLVED] Upgraded to RX 580 from GTX 970, One Issue

I recently upgraded my GTX 970 to the Sapphire Pulse RX 580 8GB. I did nothing to my Clover configuration. I simply installed the new card and booted. Everything worked like a charm out of the box with one exception. I have a three-monitor setup: two connect via Displayport and they both work...
