I've had the same problem, I've even converted the front ports on my case to USB 2.0. I can get one USB 3.0 port to work in the back, and I always install the USB 3.0 Universal kext from Multibeast, and it's been like this 10.8.3 - 10.9.2. I have a Gigabyte Z77-UD5H

I can verify this for you. I've been using this card on 10.8.3 for the past two months, and I haven't had a single issue with it. It also works with CUDA, so Adobe products integrate wonderfully on it. (Not to state the obvious or anything). :D
