I understood that I still needed USBInjectAll. But it was installed in Clover/Kexts/Other/ folder, and I had the problem. Hacintool enumerated all USB ports, as if the patch was not working. Only when I put the kext back into /L/E/ folder did the patch work properly. Could there be a problem...

Here is a screenshot of L/E & EFI. Looks like I have the classic mistake of double kexts. If you have any suggestions for removal of some I would appreciate the advice to clean it up. I removed the GenericUSB kext but Asmedia did not show in Hacintool

The only odd thing I can find is an old GenericUSBXHCI (from 2015..used inZ77build) in L/E. Do you think I should remove it and see what happens?. I've got backups of EFI.

The Asmedia controller does not show up on my GA Z370Aorus Gaming 5 under Hacintool. I mapped the ports and have as usb ssdt installed. When I set this up I did not have any usb c devices and read that the Asmedia controller did not count under the 15 port limit. Now that I'm trying to get it...

Nice attention to detail. Comments with your pictures would be helpful. I would particularly like to know about your front panel setup. With mine I ran out of USB ports for the front when I implemented a USB port patch to get the number down to 15.

I have a Gigabyte Z370 Aorus Gaming 5 with 8700k and had no problem adding or using a DVD Writer. It was an old one I pulled from a PC. It works just fine on Mojave. I have not actually burned anything on this Hac yet but my on older Sierra build with a different DVD burner works just fine also...

Thanks for this information. I tried to get my original Hac, a Z77X-UD5H, 3770k and internal graphics, running on High Sierra and it failed every time. So I gave up and moved to a new build. I think I'll give this a try on a spare HD and let you know what happens.
