    Gigabyte Z690 Aero G + i5-12600K + AMD RX 6800 XT

I had a similar issue like yours. First I started with F7, configured everything and worked perfectly. The moment I upgraded, got the dreaded restart during booting. First post basically covers everything you need to enable in the newer BIOS updates. I had to update the BIOS in case in the...

    Gigabyte Z690 Aero G + i5-12600K + AMD RX 6800 XT

I don't use a Z690 Aero G but do use an Aorus B660M AX DDR4 motherboard (All motherboards use the same BIOS FW, just the theme changes) and F26 BIOS worked fine for me. Just copy the same settings from previous F25 BIOS and you should be fine.

Buying a Dedicated GPU for your Monterey, Ventura or Sonoma Hackintosh

The AMD Radeon RX 6650XT is pretty good. Can be spoofed on macOS very easily. For the time being, there's no way to use Navi 33 based GPUs. Whether Apple adds support for those for maybe Intel Mac Pro users is unknown but chances seem very slim. Its getting harder to have a gaming hackintosh...

    Gigabyte Z690 Aero G + i5-12600K + AMD RX 6800 XT

This kext, does this need AppleVTD to be enabled? Besides, maybe if you need Thunderbolt devices, would it be recommended to turn VT-D off or does it serve some other purpose in macOS?

    Gigabyte Z690 Aero G + i5-12600K + AMD RX 6800 XT

I did see that after but at the time I didn’t think this board needed it but turns out most Gigabyte motherboards have the exact same settings/SSDTs/patches which actually is convenient. :D But everything works. Great success! Hopefully at some point the Intel wireless module gets full support...

    Gigabyte Z690 Aero G + i5-12600K + AMD RX 6800 XT

Just wanted to report and thank that this guide also worked fine for my Gigabyte B660M Aorus Pro AX DD4 motherboard as well! But one thing that is different for my setup is that you have to enable Above 4GB MMIO (hence also enable resizable BAR) which I am not sure why. Without this...

Why RX5700 black screen on big sur? help

I also had the same issue. MSI Z390 Gaming Plus motherboard with RX 5600XT and OpenCore. Got black screen after Big Sur install. I had 2 solutions to this problem. Either disable Serial port in BIOS or disabling OpenCore debugging information. I chose to disable OpenCore debug information. Use...

<< Solved >> Kernel Panic: Process 1 exec of /sbin/launchd failed errno 2

IGD is only used when you want to use the Intel UHD Graphics 630, but that has to be patched to work. It will not work on its own. But in your case, its not needed since you only want to use RX580.

<< Solved >> Kernel Panic: Process 1 exec of /sbin/launchd failed errno 2

You can always run the latest version of macOS Mojave or Catalina. Could be a driver issue.

<< Solved >> Kernel Panic: Process 1 exec of /sbin/launchd failed errno 2

I mean upload your EFI folder here. There's something wrong with your Clover configuration since that's why its not booting.

<< Solved >> Kernel Panic: Process 1 exec of /sbin/launchd failed errno 2

Can you upload your EFI folder? Are you able to modify the contents of the EFI folder? Because we need to change some things. It seems that MSI MPG Z390 Gaming Edge AC motherboards are problematic but somehow no one has written a guide to make it work.

    Please Help! APFS_Module_Start: 1689 Issue!

Hmm an MSI Z390 motherboard I see. Okay let's try a minimal EFI folder. Try it out and see if it boots.

Problem Creating Bootable Drive on Macbook Pro Mid 2012

I have a 2012 Macbook Pro and created a Catalina USB just yesterday. You sure its not a corrupted macOS installer? I prefer doing vanilla USBs as instructed by Apple: Apple Bootable USB From there once the USB drive is mounted, I install Clover on ESP.

[GUIDE] General Framebuffer Patching Guide (HDMI Black Screen Problem)

Personally for me the MSI Z390M Gaming Plus Patch is somewhat broken as it doesn't consider the DVI-D port. Should be revised to support DVI-D for those that don't use HDMI. <key>AAPL,ig-platform-id</key> <data>BwCbPg==</data> <key>framebuffer-con0-busid</key> <data>AQAAAA==</data>...

An iDiot's Guide To Lilu and its Plug-ins

Thanks for the assist though . On the FAQs it says no support is being provided. I'll see what I can do or maybe wait for a next Lilu and Whatevergreen update. And 10.15.5 update.

An iDiot's Guide To Lilu and its Plug-ins

Using Microsoft Edge and Firefox, all DRM videos work (DASH, HLS, Smooth). In Safari, its very buggy. The only one that seems to load fine is Smooth. Kexts wise there's nothing special. Currently running macOS Catalina 10.15.4. Yeah I've heard about switching to iMac Pro 1,1. The thing is I...

An iDiot's Guide To Lilu and its Plug-ins

I've tried all shikivga values. None of them make a difference. For some reason I am required to have the Intel UHD 630 in online mode (0x3E9B0007) for H264 to work. The problem is that this increases the boot time compared to when it is set offline (headless). I don't understand why...

An iDiot's Guide To Lilu and its Plug-ins

I got a picture of the output: I'm guessing the error is that it can't find IGPU IOService plane? Not sure if this is a 10.15.4 thing. If I go to IORegistryExplorer: Is it because its known as IGPU@2? From WEG documentation it is recommended to not patch the DSDT. Radeon RX 5600 XT is at...

An iDiot's Guide To Lilu and its Plug-ins

Coffee Lake Refresh processors must use 0x3E9B0007 as their igplatformid if you're planning to use Intel UHD 630 Graphics. From there, you must patch the framebuffer to correctly map the motherboard video ports. What's happening in your case is that macOS doesn't recognize your video ports...

An iDiot's Guide To Lilu and its Plug-ins

Can anyone here explain to me why H264 decoder fails when Intel UHD 630 is in headless mode? As you can see, the Intel UHD 630 framebuffer is loaded and macOS detects it just fine. However, it makes no sense. Running VDA Decoder also gives an error: So how can HEVC be working fine but...
