<< Solved >> Stuck with apfs.efi copy failure

Latest update: Tried different media without success. Today I deleted the Install Mojave App and downloaded a fresh copy from the App Store. After that, Unibeast created the install disk without any errors.

<< Solved >> Stuck with apfs.efi copy failure

Thanks for that video. It is definitely in mine so the issue is with the copy and not with the file not existing. Still trying to figure out the root cause here since others also have the problem and unless they just never posted how they fixed it I see several threads with no ultimate...

<< Solved >> Stuck with apfs.efi copy failure

Which installer? I don't see it in either Unibeast or the Install macOS Mojave packages.

<< Solved >> Stuck with apfs.efi copy failure

Out of curiosity, where is the apfs.efi file it is trying to copy coming from? Is it included in UniBeast or is it trying to copy from somewhere. Perhaps the reason some of us are having this and some not is that we may not have the file in the expected location or it may not be accessible for...

<< Solved >> Stuck with apfs.efi copy failure

There is not physically enough time to unmount it from the time it appears and the time the error occurs. The EFI partition is mounted, followed immediately by the error.

<< Solved >> Stuck with apfs.efi copy failure

Digging through other posts with the same issue. It was noted that the EFI partition can’t be mounted during creation or it causes this issue, and noticed that the EFI partition is automatically mounting once it is created. If that is the issue, has anyone got a solution to prevent the partition...

Thanks, but per my original post above item 19 made no difference.

<< Solved >> Stuck with apfs.efi copy failure

Sorry, still not following you. Neither macOS installer nor clover configurator are running. I am running UniBeast to create the install disk for Mojave. The only things running at the time the error occurs is Unibeast and a few misc utility apps (Amphetamine, Moom, Path Finder, Finder).

<< Solved >> Stuck with apfs.efi copy failure

The Mojave installer is in the application folder, it is not running when I try to use Unibeast. After the first time I got the error, I rebooted the machine as a 'just in case' preventative measure. I have successfully created several of the UniBeast bootable volumes in the past, this is the...

2019-002 High Sierra update - not loading on X58 (BIOS) system

Found another user with a MacPro having the same problem, the fix he found worked for me. Note before doing this I also deleted the contents of library/update: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/new-high-sierra-security-update-2018-002-10-13-6-wont-install.2151143/page-2#post-26837098

2019-002 High Sierra update - not loading on X58 (BIOS) system

Still stuck on this, 2019-003 will not load either. I have tried multiple solutions over the last month as I have had time including: Trying to run the update on a spinning hard drive (not APFS). Used the recovery partitiion to re-install OSX then trying the update. Removed the NVidia drivers...

<< Solved >> Apple Changed 10.13.6 Security Update to 17G6030> No Nvidia Drivers

Not yet, too busy with Taxes this weekend. Looks like you solution was to do it on an HFS formatted drive vs APFS. I will try that, thanks.

2019-002 High Sierra update - not loading on X58 (BIOS) system

Still stuck on this one. Last thing I tried was to wipe out all traces of the update on my system, do a clean install of Clover Legacy Boot Mode v2.4k r4862 and try the latest update from the app store. No change in results - the update runs, prompts for restart, and then while trying to shut...

How to Update + Current and Past apfs.efi Downloads

How does this impact BIOS (non UEFI) motherboards? Installing ‘Legacy’ Clover (from this site) does not put the ApfsDriverLoader file out there and the one on GitHub throws error messages when in place. I am assuming we still need the APFS.efi file or a loader - just not sure where to get it...

<< Solved >> Apple Changed 10.13.6 Security Update to 17G6030> No Nvidia Drivers

This box currently has a non-Mojave supported graphics card in it so upgrading to Mojave is not an immediate option. Last thing I did with this on Sunday was purge everything I could find related to the update off my system. Next step I am planning is to try the most current version of Clover...

2019-002 High Sierra update - not loading on X58 (BIOS) system

This time around it is not getting that far, I am not even getting that partition. There is a 'Boot macOS Install Prebooter From Preboot' partition out there that i tried but it just results in an immediate stop error.

2019-002 High Sierra update - not loading on X58 (BIOS) system

I have been completely unable to get the 2019-002 update to load to my BIOS (legacy Clover) X58-UD5 system. I have tried the App Store and full update from Apple’s support site with no change. I have also tried loading without the NVidia web driver loaded. When I run the update, it runs fine...

<< Solved >> Apple Changed 10.13.6 Security Update to 17G6030> No Nvidia Drivers

Is this on your EX58 box? I am also stuck in a similar situation with my X58 system. Anyone with an older BIOS based system have the update work? I have tried multiple things today, rolling back to last good state after each attempt. Tried after just rolling back (system and EFI replaced from...
