Hi Gordo74,
Thanks for your reply.
In general, I get the plain combo update to finish, then bridgehelper, then when multibeast starts up, it restarts the desktop, killing the two 'waiting-to-restart' processes that have just been run. I also have to restart multibeast for some odd reason...
Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, I don't have access to 10.6.0. I have 10.6.3 Install Disk. Whose DSDT did you use? Could you provide a link? These are my settings:
64-bit HPET: done
AHCI: done
base 32x: done
turbo: off (Performance Enhance: [Standard])
Boot Devices: CD-Rom, Then...
Gordo's guide works for me up to the point of install. I use easybeast for the install instead of DSDT. I can get 10.6.3 to build. I just can't get upgrade to 10.6.7, let alone boot on its own. 10.6.7 Early 2011 won't even function. I thought I'd wait for the next incarnation of iBoot...
I thought -v just meant 'verbose' or 'show the normally-hidden command line operations used to boot'. I wonder if that really could affect how the machine boots. In your situation, it apparently does. Hmm...
This link does not exist when you click on it.
I can't get 10.6.7 to boot worth squat...
Okay, I've managed to get it installed on my machine, but I've still got some ways to go to get it fully functional.
Here are the steps that worked for me:
Buy Snow Leopard Install DVD.[/*:m:29ld2gjc]
Download these items:iBoot 3.0.1 (Also: Make this iso into a CD.)[/*:m:29ld2gjc]...
Greetings! Help me write a DSDT primer!
I've been looking all over for a good primer on exactly what a DSDT.aml file is and where it fits into the scheme of things. As far as I can tell, there is no thread devoted as a full-out FAQ about what it is, where it comes from, how you can get one from...
Re: Mac OS X 10.6.7 Early 2011 MacBook Pro Sandy Bridge Update
I'm still new, so I'm not sure if we're asking the same question or you're answering with a question. So...
This post says this:
I had thought 10.7.3 was vanilla kernel.
There's also the new multibeast with enhanced Sandybridge...
Re: Sandybridge i5 - Install Failed - then, Kernel Panic...
I don't have access to a mac. Bummer. I've decided to buy another brand of ram - Corsair Vengeance. I'll use a stick of that to see if it can get me going. This is also my work computer, so I'm having to do it when I have the time -...
Re: Sandybridge i5 - Install Failed - then, Kernel Panic...
Yoga, Thanks for your reply. Following those directions gave me a kernel panic too. However, when did it without using "GraphicsEnabler=No maxmem=4096" at boot, I was able to get much further than previously before it gave me the...
Re: Sandybridge i5 - Install Failed - then, Kernel Panic...
I've run into some new challenges. I was having trouble with the hard drive, so I decided to make sure it actually worked. I formatted it for windows and transferred a file to the drive as a quick test. It seemed to work all right. I...
Re: Sandybridge i5 - stuck at gray apple icon during install
Okay, I did a little more searching and found this earlier post about sandybridge.
It basically says to use iboot-legacy iso instead of iboot with slighty different directions than the normal iboot-multibeast install method. But now...
See below for current details.
This is the box as it is configured for install. Same as my profile, except one WD Caviar Black 500GB SATA drive on a SATA2 port. When viewed in Windows 7, it shows as an unallocated drive with a GUID partition table in 'Disk Management', so the drive should be...
Re: GA-P67A-UD4-B3 Sandybridge - Multi Boot Win7 - Advice please
I just made my computer a dual boot Windows/Ubuntu with Wubi.
It installed Ubuntu on a partition on my 2TB drive for me and now, the Windows Boot Manager gives me the option of booting into either at startup.
I also found EasyBCD...
I have just made this configuration:

Graphics: ATI Radeon HD 5700
Power: Antec EA-650 EarthWatts 650W
