First Build, First Case Mod, First Everything!

Thanks for the tip, and I think you're right. My plan is swapping the direction of the back fan. Hopefully the 80mm will be enough and I'll try it out for a few days with that, but if not I'll definitely be cutting out for a 120mm.

First Build, First Case Mod, First Everything!

Just going for the case mod right now. I do a lot of gaming on PC that I need windows for. I do have a semi-old MSI board and Intel I5 chip. I'll defeinitely be trying to put OSX on that, but as I'm on a budget I'm tackling this one project at a time. I'm using this first one as a test run...

    My PowerMac G5 Hackintosh Build.

What is that sitting on top of your G5 case in the very first picture (looks like a mini G5 w/ a white apple logo)? External HD?

    G5 White Swan!

Normally I don't like the painted G5's, but this is very clean. I think the powder coating makes a world of a difference versus a spray can. How much did it cost if you don't mind my asking? Also, you thinking of adding any LED's to it? I think white LED's on a white case is my favorite...

First Build, First Case Mod, First Everything!

So this is the first computer I've ever built or modded. For the past few years I've used a computer that I bought off craigslist, and when the power supply faulted and messed up my mobo, I decided to build my own. Luckily my GPU, Ram and HD's were ok. After seeing some G5 mods, I found this...

Anyone use velcro in a case mod?

Awesome, thanks guys! I'm definitely using it to keep my PSU in place on the bottom of my case, and the HD tray and disc drive in place on the top shelf.

Anyone use velcro in a case mod?

So I'm 90% finished with my mod, and am just figuring out how to mount my radiator and hdd tray. I've seen a lot of people over at overclock use velcro as it is cheap, easy, dampens sound, and is easily re-movable. Just curious if anybody has used it in their G5 case mod?

    My G5 case mod 2012

I really like the look of that mobo tray. Very clean build! How's the cooling on this setup? I just finished my case and am figruing out a layout for the internals right now and was going to do something very similar to this.

    Layout Suggestions/Thoughts

For anyone who can't read the text, from top left going clockwise it reads: Original HDD Tray (w/ 2 40mm fans) 80mm Fan on rear Cooler Master Hydroseries H55 in bottom-front

How To Remove The G5 Upper Shelf

Thanks! I actually did the same thing right after I posted this (used an eyeglass screw driver).

How To Remove The G5 Upper Shelf

How did you guys manage to remove the C-Clip? That's the only thing hindering me from finally getting my G5 fully deconstructed and for the life of me I can't get it off.

    Paint for Mac G5/Pro

Do you think one can would be enough to spray the exposed part of a motherboard tray?
