Apple is in the business of, well making money. They design very good products and market they extremely well. Provide a good level of product support and warranty to keep their reputation. use mid-level components but charge more than what the high end components would cost to increase...
Oh and use Mac Pro 3,1 for installation and after installation. all others will freeze, so far tried 14,2 which is stable for 30 min then freezes, 17,1 freezes within 5 min. 4,1 also freezes randomly. 3,1 seems to be ok for now.
AUdio works use multibeast ALC887/888B and also select the Seires 100 audio option, this board is a seires 100 board. apply and reboot then go to system preferences and select internal speakers under the output tab.
Installed OSX onto SATA SSD on my other build using create-install media USB then ran multibeast on the SSD and removed it and inserted it to the ASUS, it then booted ok. i was struggling to get to the installer on the ASUS and was too slow. anyhow, from there I was able to clone the...
will try this too, traditionally i always use the mobo direct USB rather than the one connected to the header. definately worth a shot, cheers for the tips will post back my results.
by the way are you also using an M2 HDD? i have one which currently has windows 10 on it but dont know if OSX...
Just to be clear on the USB, I'm using the rear USB 2.0 port on the ASUS Z170-K. On my other build when making the USB, Unibeast seems to see the USB as an internal drive but OSX shows it as removable so Unibeast refuses to install to it, but i have used the createinstall media script without...

Hi,
Looking for some help, I just bought the same mobo as yours ASUS Z170-K over the weekend and cannot get it to boot to the installer or even boot a preinstalled HDD, can you please tell me what settings you changed in the BIOS? i have tried all the changes seen on the forums for ASUS but no...
you have definately missed a step. this works for everyone who has tried it hence you need to follow the guide carefully, ensure bios is in legacy mode.
I suspect the three would mean the same bios is used for three different variants of your laptop. one of the three would be specific to your laptop, by trial and error attempt applying the variables from all three also use the search function in the text editor to search for dvmt, there could be...
instead of backing up the bios did you try downloading the bios file from the manufacturers site? also check through the file carefully dxe core is there somewhere. I have not come across such an error hence unable to tell you what to do beyond whats in the guide.... you can experiment and see...
check the variable you have entered ensure you are not typing in the wrong thing, some people have entered the wrong thing and get an error and wonder why there's an error.
Had not seen this, does it have a dual graphics?
try the second one setup_var 0x22A 0x3 twice and see what happens. if its dual graphics note that you would need to disable the graphics card
Hmmm... not sure whats wrong then as it seems to work ok for me and others... reboot and retry..... then also check in windows what the pre-allocated shows even if it gives you an error at the dos prompt
