I am trying to track down the source of this issue and find a way to correct it. I went ahead and followed PJALM’s guide here: http://www.tonymacx86.com/user-builds/95135-asus-maximus-v-gene-i7-3770-hd4000-hd5870-working-ivy-bridge-power-management.html In System Profiler, under Diagnostics...

Maximus V Gene - Thinking about OSX, but on the fence...

Gotcha - OK, so having both in place, Ivy Bridge power management is enabled. Where can I verify this in the system? Or should I not worry. Just want to check things off my post install list.

Maximus V Gene - Thinking about OSX, but on the fence...

I did, read your post. However, I was looking to get some more feedback. Wondering if others took the plunge and happy with the boards performance. I have your post printed and I'm ready to go. I came across your post and this prompted me to add mine. Thanks for the write up BTW.

Maximus V Gene - Thinking about OSX, but on the fence...

Hi, Question: Is the Asus Maximus V Gene mobo difficult to work with and setup? I just don’t want to spend xx-days trying to get a solid OSX setup just to deal with lingering issues and worry about stability. I have (2) Hackintosh's running for approx. 2 years now and all is well. Both...

    Color Profile Assistance

I can't seem to get my monitor calibrated right. Anyone have a color profile recommendation I can try? I have been using my spyder2express but it seems to give the entire monitor a Sepia tint :banghead: I'm confused now as sites that I know have a blue color tone to them now appear to be a...

Must have Apps for your Mac

I've added Coda and Yojimbo to my list. In about 1 hour, I loaded up Yojimbo with snippets, images and web links. Glad I broke down and finally purchased it. I'm a sucker for Journaling apps. @Aku Quicksilver, for me at least, is OK. I use Spotlight when I need to launch and search for apps I...

    iBoot wont boot.

I had a similar issue. I thought I burned the image – but actually just copied it on the CD. Make sure you are burring the “image†.ISO and not just the file. I used burn on my laptop. I have a few more coasters now.

    Need some help with Chameleon/Multibeast

You should be able to still run Easybeast. once you run it, it should reboot without the CD. Now just go back into Multibeast and setup your video. I saw a clip on YT using this method. Hope this helps.

After you finish your iBoot + Multibeast install…

What is the next thing you do? To check your system. After a clean installation, update using "software update", what advice can you give to (test to run etc., if any) to check my new Snow Leopard Core i5 is working, stable, and ready to get my applications installed, and enjoy? I have gone...
