Hard Drive thinks it is full after sleep

After a reboot, it looks like this:

Hard Drive thinks it is full after sleep

It doesn't. That is just and APFS container. That's how APFS partitions look in Disk Utility. Here is the full drive As to Storage, there are no large files (Photos is actually on a different drive). After sleep you get this weirdness, note the "System Data":

Hard Drive thinks it is full after sleep

I don't know. I don't know about how sleepimage works. Is that a known problem that a "sleep image" is being created and then not eliminated? Also, not sure why it would be apron 160GB. I thought the sleep image was just the size of your ram (8GB in my case). That would be a 300GB partition.

Hard Drive thinks it is full after sleep

I'm not sure if this has been going on for a while and I just didn't notice, or if something has changed. My hard drive reports double the usage after sleep. If I reboot, it restores to normal. I've done a search, but found nothing specific. I've also tried Disk Utility's First Aid on the drive...

Half USB ports just dead after Monterrey Upgrade

Sorry, that was five years ago. I believe I was using Clover back then, and certainly an older version of OSX. I don't know if I still have that same problem as I added a NAS to my home network a few years ago and don't need to plug in those drives anymore.

Half USB ports just dead after Monterrey Upgrade

I am creating a custom USBMap.kext, although it is hard to know which USB2 ports to keep as nothing happens when I plug a USB2 device into a physical port. I don't have XchiPortLimit or USBInjectAll.

Half USB ports just dead after Monterrey Upgrade

Thank your for your reply. After a little more digging I have some more information: The physical plugs are only mostly dead.... OK, bad movie quotes aside, four of the six USB3.0 plugs are not responding to USB2.0 being plugged in. As you point out this motherboard has two onboard USB2.0...

Half USB ports just dead after Monterrey Upgrade

For some inexplicable reason, half my onboard USB ports are dead after I upgraded to Monterrey. They worked fine before, and I can use them when I boot into Linux, so I know there is no physical problem with them. Using USBMap.command, nothing happens when I plug into the dead ports. Nothing...

macOS Catalina Public Beta is Now Available

Just to conclude on my graphics issues... I gave up. Sorry. Instead of trying to get the Intel HD 4600 to work I went out and got a Radeon RX 570 8 GB. No issues since I put the new card in. Catalina still chokes on sleep, something I had worked out in Mojave. But I don't have the time or...

IntelMausiEthernet.kext Is Creating a Kernel Panic

Unfortunately, I can't seem to do that. When I run Clover_v2.5k_r5033.pkg I get an error that: This package is incompatible with this version of macOS. If I tell it to install anyway it will give me the error that: The Installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail...

macOS Catalina Public Beta is Now Available

Thank you. Updated kext solved the audio problem, but not the graphics issue:

macOS Catalina Public Beta is Now Available

Installed on a clean new drive. Boots well and functions, but I'm having both audio and graphics issues. Graphics: System Report correctly identifies the graphics system but shows "no kexts loaded", and Fusion 360 loads with error that I have no graphics card. I have installed WhateverGreen...

<< Solved >> Did my Motherboard go bad?

To everyone who might be interested, it did appear to be a mobo problem. I guess bank1 was compromised somehow, and without it, it had trouble reading bank2. I replaced the motherboard (no so easy because I wanted to salvage my lga1150 cpu and dimm3 memory) and it all works again without a...

<< Solved >> Did my Motherboard go bad?

Weird, because I see all three. Whatever. I'v updated it now to reflect the new mobo. See below.

<< Solved >> Did my Motherboard go bad?

I will google memory fix driver. Although I followed the advice on the missing OsxAptioFix2Drv file and had no success. Are there more than one "memory fix driver"? You imply as much with "wrong" driver.

<< Solved >> Did my Motherboard go bad?

I'm sorry, what aspect of my profile is incomplete? I followed you link and there did not appear to be anything I have not already included. This would be my 19th post and no one has ever said my profile was incomplete.

<< Solved >> Did my Motherboard go bad?

I have been using my Hackintosh with latest Mojave no problem. Today I turned on my machine and could not get even to the BIOS splash screen without entering a re-boot cycle. Reading other threads I tried moving my single 8GB DIMM to the second of two slots on my MB. This time I was able to...

    macOS 10.13.4 Update

Upgraded from 10.13.3 to 10.13.4 using the AppStore updater. Everything SEEMED to go OK, but when I check the computer it says I am still on 10.13.3, and the AppStore still lists 10.13.4 as an available update. I don't know if this has come up in the previous 45 pages of posts, but I couldn't...
