Well I've got a RX 570 on order for $181 Cdn. My other option was a new i3-9100 + mobo for about $220. I'll post my results/feelings once it's installed. One reason I went with the graphics card update is because I"ll prolly try getting back into First Person Shooters(on my Windows partition).

With your i5-6500 + RX480 what Geekbench 5 results do you get?

I've been running a Skylake Hackintosh for awhile now and it's really stable now. Current specs MSI-7984, i5-6500, EVO 860 SSD, 32 Gb mismatched 2133 DDR4, GTX 710 on Geekbench 5 i get 986 single core and 3319 Multi. I feel that this is adequate but it's old now and so maybe an update/upgrade...

Well ... as i feared .. the GTX 560 didn't work so well in High Sierra. Got a cheap GT 710 ... no problems :)

Well ... i just enrolled in HS beta and installed the public beta. Seems were back to the same issue with the GTX 260. You get a black screen after install with a cursor. Using nv_disable=1 works but of course the screen flickers etc. I did also see the Audio greyed out but didn't pursue that...

OK ... so I have updated to 10.12.5 after getting a GTX 560. I tried an EVGA version and bought a Gigabyte version off Craigslist for $30. No kext issues and my audio didn't require re-pudating! So do your self a favour and get one. Hopefully 10.13 will not be a problem too ...

Yes ... this worked up to 10.12.5. I've tried the webdriver and got the nvdstartup webdriver crash and this was on 10.12.4

hmm ... 10.12.5 isn't going quite so easily. I've had to restore 10.12.4 for now. Using the el cap nvdastartup.kext worked but i only had 1 stock screen resolution? Not sure if the audio reinstall had an effect too? Anyone else running into problems?

Just updated to 10.12.3 .... no change in procedure.

Just Updated to 10.12.1 via App Store. Had to redo my NVDSstartup from El Cap and Use Multibeast for ALC1150. I find keeping a backup working partition makes life easier at these times
