    Hi Im having trouble with my 6870. The fan is too loud in both bootcamp/windows and lion. I tried flashing the bios and the fan seems to behave accordingly in dos but as soon as I boot into either windows or lion the fan speeds upto about 50%. Does anyone have any info that may help...

    This seems to work but as soon as I get to the login screen for lion the gfx card revs up the fan regardless of bios settings. Know what might be the issue? Thanks

    Thats good to know. When rendering the cpu is likely to be near 100% for prolonged times but dont intend to have much else, ie dvd drive, usb powered peripherals pci card.
