Hey guys,
I have a Gigabyte Z68MA-D2H-B3 mobo using an i5-2500K with on board HD3000 video.
When using system definition MacPro 3,1 audio works great (no 'pops' when increasing/decreasing volume, starting to play music) but AirPlay crashes. When changing to MacMini 5,1, AIRPLAY works...
Okay, it seems to be working....but i dont recall doing anything special....
1. I removed the OEMSMBIOS plugin from FAKESMC.kext in S/L/E/ ...unable to boot, just get spinning wheel to infinity (and not beyond)
2. I booted into SAFE MODE....deleted FAKESMC...then opened Multibeast for ML...
I have a Gigabyte Z68MA-D2H-B3...HD3000 graphics and I'm getting the same...I can't even boot with my USB drive...I have to clean install 10.8.2 every single time to make a change or try something different.
I booted with "-v", the last line when the system just stops...
It's what we love to do. :)
On another subject, my DVD burner kicks in every once in a while, it just spins for no reason and there's no disc in the tray. It's annoying and I know it shouldn't be. I tried to search on it but came up with nothing.
So I re-installed and the wallpaper is can be changed.
One thing I did after updating 10.7.4 (the first time) was replace the DOCK app from 10.7.1 so my LaunchPad icons are smaller. Do you think replacing the DOCK app caused the issue with my wallpaper?
10.7.4
So updating to 10.7.4 went well. I ran a benchmark test with NovaBench and beat all my previous results.
One thing though....I can't change my desktop wallpaper. Either going through System Pref or right clicking on the image itself to make it my wallpaper....it doesn't change.

First of all, thanks once again for all your input!
I went to Gigabyte's website and looked up my board (rev. 1.3), it has the Realtek ALC889 codec.
But I will try the kext file and report back tonight.
