Sys Def: MacPro 3,1 = AIRPLAY fails, MacMini 5,1 = AIRPLAY works, audio pops

Hey guys, I have a Gigabyte Z68MA-D2H-B3 mobo using an i5-2500K with on board HD3000 video. When using system definition MacPro 3,1 audio works great (no 'pops' when increasing/decreasing volume, starting to play music) but AirPlay crashes. When changing to MacMini 5,1, AIRPLAY works...

It's what we love to do. :) On another subject, my DVD burner kicks in every once in a while, it just spins for no reason and there's no disc in the tray. It's annoying and I know it shouldn't be. I tried to search on it but came up with nothing.

Be sure to select the correct SSDT! And run benchmark tests before and after so you know everything is okay.

So I re-installed and the wallpaper is can be changed. One thing I did after updating 10.7.4 (the first time) was replace the DOCK app from 10.7.1 so my LaunchPad icons are smaller. Do you think replacing the DOCK app caused the issue with my wallpaper?

10.7.4 So updating to 10.7.4 went well. I ran a benchmark test with NovaBench and beat all my previous results. One thing though....I can't change my desktop wallpaper. Either going through System Pref or right clicking on the image itself to make it my wallpaper....it doesn't change. Has...

I did use toledas' kext then replaced it with this: download/file.php?id=29819 (another kext file for my chipset) and using 3,1.

First of all, thanks once again for all your input! I went to Gigabyte's website and looked up my board (rev. 1.3), it has the Realtek ALC889 codec. But I will try the kext file and report back tonight. Sal..

But it's just a cable plugging into the Line Out jack. On my previous build, I used the same speakers and no pop (different mobo of course).
