But Mojave is before Big Sur... I wanted Mojave as the most modern MacOS that still supported 32 bit Logic Pro plugins... Would I get decent graphics if I installed High Sierra? If not would a Radeon RX 560 get me out of this fix or even a cheapo Geforce GT 710 1Gb or 2GB/DDR5?
Thanks!
Going well, almost there I think... disabling serial port caused it not to boot though :(
I did another install onto a second ssd using 13.2 iMac as sysdef. it now boots super quick.
I had to install AtherosL1cEthernet.kext using KextBeast to get the ethernet working but I'm now stuck on poor...
Black screen after install Mojave :(
So I finally got Mojave installed after problems with the creation date of my 2019 Mojave stick. I got a fresh Mojave from the App store and made a new stick.
That installed it - I even got my apps over from Time machine!
But multibeast failed with an...
Hi
I’m planning on updating my ancient Yosemite daily to Mojave.
It’s a Gigabyte GA-Z77 DS3H V.1 / i7 3 series / GT640 GPU
It’s currently on Chameleon/Multibeast with a SYSDEF of Mac Pro 3.1
I was wondering if I changed the SYSDEF (to which one I don’t know) I could then upgrade to Mojave...
Hi All. I have the GA-Z77 board with a GT640 GPU and i7 3 series. Just about to move to Mojave and then get a 500 Watt GPU and an AMD Saphire Pulse 570. from what I've read Clover can handle all that but is the board too old? Will it take an AMD 570? Thanks in advance!
Please mark as solved thanks to Toleda's guide here: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/high-sierra-multibeast-audio.246618/ It was the audio that was breaking the video. I'd already installed the correct ALC 892 but only the 100/200/300 series audio support. I needed to add the 300 patch option...
Hi all, I'm having an issue with the 'Final Cut and Logic' machine in my profile.
It's a Gigabyte Z370 board with a Gigabyte GTX 1050 Graphics card.
Video (mkv or mp4) plays fine in VLC unless you try to skip forward. Then it freezes and crashes VLC. Quicktime (10.4 (928.5.1) gives an unknown...
Agree about the GPU prices. I was going to get a GTX1050ti for my 'daily' till I saw the price. In this case though, I already have a GT710 boxed and unused so I don't need to part with any money, now I know it will do the job and this thread has meant that I don't need to find another GT640...
Mainly because of sharing 'System Memory Bandwidth' mentioned here:http://www.pcgamer.com/gaming-without-a-dedicated-graphics-chip-on-i7-7700k/. I know it's a gaming article, it just popped up from a search.
However, the article describes a GTX1050 as 'the most basic GPU' so I'll adjust what...
Hi
I'm building an audio machine that won't be used for games. It's the GA H270 HD3 | i7 7700 | ???? as seen in my build signature.
I was going to buy a used GT 640 but I also have an MSI GT710 too that's spare. Does anyone know which would be the least hassle? The GT 640 has been 'out of the...
Hi Going Bald.
Yes, I installed Clover and Chameleon. More than one Clover as it turned out. In one combination Clover Configurator confirmed that I had booted with Clover on the HDD so I changed BIOS boot options. They were set to first boot P4: Samsung and with the USB in the machine booted...
Everything is sweet but it still needs the usb to boot. I have screenshots and bios pic and I'm sure we're one or two clicks away from victory! Please help. Machine is the i5 in my profile. Thanks all as always!
Hmmm. Tried again today. Came to an impasse. Using the internal graphics allows me to see the USB and Hard Drive with the Sierra icon on it. But trying to boot from the Sierra HD gives a pretty quick Kernel panic. Of course, the internal graphics aren't supported. But booting with GPU installed...
Update: No joy but more info:
I formatted the USB stick and made a new one with the UEFI option chosen instead of Legacy and neither graphics options ticked.
1. Tried with the monitor DVI connected to the MSI GPU first. That stuck on the UEFI screen and wouldn’t go any further with or...
