I am by no means a quitter but that is what I finally did. I spent days on this and finally broke down and bought a 12 core Mac Pro. My old Mountian Lion powered Hackintosh is such a beautiful piece of equipment but it will remain a Mountain Lion / Windows 10 machine, which is not bad either...
I had a "cloned" copy of my original Hackintosh drive that was created with my paid version of Carbon Copy Cloner. I too was not able to boot from it (as is) but after simply installing Chimera 4.1.0 to this drive it booted right up!
I just did the same thing and I am sick about it. I was clicking too fast on the "continue, continue, continues" and it installed Clover on my primary Hackintosh SSD boot drive with Mountian Lion. The odd thing is that I can no longer boot from ANY drive. I have actually disconnected ALL of my...
Sorry if my info was not clear. Here is what I have: I successfully built a Hackintosh to run Mountain Lion 4 years ago. It has run perfectly and has been a real workhorse for me. I now desire to update it to run El Capitan. I created a USB thumb-drive following the Tonymac guide for doing so...
I understand that there may be advantages to using Clover (as it was strongly recommenced) but it seems to be over my head. I am trying to install El Capitan over my previous installation of Mountain Lion. I successfully setup my USB with what appeared to be the appropriate Unibeast and...
I didn't know that El Capitan was an option for Hackintosh. I am happy to try it and it may be easier to get a copy of since Apple no longer provides Maverick on the App store. I assume that I can get a proper download in the format of a suitable file in El Capitan (?) By the way; thanks so much...
My last 2 reply post just vanished. How strange. Anyway, My Extra folder has 2 files in it: "org chameleon bot plist" and "smbios plist". Is it one of these? Sorry, I am very new to all of this and it was many years ago when I did this the one and only time before.
Even though I managed to pull this off once it was a while back and I am not sure exactly what I am looking for. In my Extras folder I have the org.chameleon.bot.plist and also a file called smbios.plist (?)
I am trying to get my ML Hackintosh updated to Mavericks. As I am pulling my files together I am looking for the DSDT for my Gigabyte GA-X79-UD5 Motherboard but cannot locate it on the Tonymac site. I am certain that I found it a couple of years back when I first built this machine. Any idea...
Wow, that was fast. Many thanks. Is there a chance that I could upgrade through the Apple App Store, or are you just suggesting to use caution with a backup and proceed in a different way? I am not sure where to start with this and if it is even possible with my present setup. Thanks for your help.
4 years ago I jumped in with both feet to successfully build a Hackintosh from scratch with the prescribed components from this website. It runs on Mountain Lion and has been absolutely rock-solid. Never a glitch. I edit high-speed video on PP and After Effects, etc. I could not have asked for...
You are correct! I was finally told by someone that if the audio feature is not working on the system as a whole then the video will not play in PPro (go figure). But he was right. Once I got audio working my GTX 680 card magically came to life. I used the NVidia CUDA drivers and did that little...

Thanks Ben. I just ran the Luxmark benchmark test and received a score of 759 using the complex room scene (if you happen to know anything about this... I sure didn't until an hour ago) :) It is rendering very...
I got my audio working based upon the info provided here and I'm most grateful. This is a huge relief. Sorry for the false alarm as I groped for even more assistance but after staring at it for a while it started to make sense so I moved ahead and it all worked first time. The only issue that...

Benbumben:
I think you were right! I redid my whole Hackintosh setup, got the audio to work based upon some info from a different post and then found that my Premiere Pro is now working! I can hardly believe it...
