    home made imac :)

Most people would have done that with a pico psu and thin mini-itx, but i guess it´s not that easy to get those parts in turkey. Anyways: Thats an awesome mod.

    GTX 460 Mountain Lion Support?

I installed everything fermi related in multibeast and downloaded the cuda drivers, but it also works without them (as far as i remember).

    GTX 460 Mountain Lion Support?

Go for it! I'm running a Gtx 460 flawless (well, actually i had a few crashes while playing starcraft, but i'm not sure if it was a graphics error or the oc'ed cpu) with 10.8.2. There isn't any special work needed to get it running, it's pretty much plug and play.

Spec the Mac Pro 2013: What Will the Hardware Be?

Well, thats way too soon for haswell & ivy-e , so Sandybridge-EP is the only viable option. Maybe the 3770 for the "low end", ´cause it wouldn´t hurt sales to move closer to the 1000$ price point. I don´t think there are many surprises to expect. just the usual stuff.. A great workstation for...

Apple's Aging Mac Pro Line to be Discontinued in Europe as of March 1st 2013

I think its time for apple to abandon the mac pro, i´m not happy about it either but it seems like the next step in a series of unreasonable decisions. The real professionals are becoming a minority in the OS X userbase. Shipping a Macbook "Pro" w/o an Ethernet port? There´s no way a company...

    Hackintosh for business projects?

    1. Why not? If you prefer OS X over Windows for your professional work, go for it. There are no stability issues or something similiar, which could stop you from being as productive as on a mac pro or imac. 2. Yeah, thats possible. I´m not able to explain everything in detail but it works...

Rumor: BCLK Overclocking Back with Intel's Haswell CPUs?

FSB Overclocking is so much more fun and very challenging. I mean Multi-ocing is just boring: 1. raise Multi by 1. 2. check if its stable. 3. stable? yes! - good! repeat step 1 and 2 until it will get unstable or too hot. no! - Bump the Voltage and return to the...

    ATI graphics card not recommended

Current-Gen AMD cards (HD 7xxx) are not supported, only previous-gen (6xxx) are. The reason why the Mac Pro is using those is because it hasn´t been updated in a while. You could get one of the supported ones but they aren´t such a good bang for your back. But if you could get a used one cheap...

    choosing motherboard

I´m owning a GA-Z77-DS3H and i´m really happy with it. It´s not outstanding or remarkable in any way, but it´s one of the cheapest and works flawless. I was a bit disappointed when i learned, that vcore was locked on this board, but if you don´t wan´t to oc, you won´t even notice that...

The 660 Ti Thread: Questions and Answers Here!

Wow, as a european you would consider this as free. It´s like 40% off (compared to EU prices) with a triple-A Title included. Get it! BTW: I will never understand why those things are so cheap in the States. There´s just no rational reason for that. (don´t blame it on ww2)

Inside look at overclocking CPU and Memory with Gigabyte

i think there's no way to raise vcore on the ds-3h. You have to be happy with the very limited oc options.

GTX 460 connecting 2x dvi 1x hdmi and use 2 screens without disconnecting cables

not possible: the second dvi port is wired to the hdmi port. You could try the iGpu.

4.2 max CPU speed on osx??

yeah, that 4.2 limit of osx can't be true, atleast not on gigabyte boards. Tried my 3770k at 4.5 never got it stable at such speeds but it was recognized w/o any modifications.

4.2 max CPU speed on osx??

Try a different system definition. I just tried Imac 13,1 and it wasn´t overclocking at all! It just sat there at 3.5 Ghz, while i was throwing bechmarks at it. With the Imac 12,2 it clocks up all the way to 4.3. Edited my post, because i my thought was kinda flawed.

Intel's 2013 "Haswell" CPU Lineup Exposed - Same Intel HD Graphics on All Models

i think the new socket was known for quit some time now. Maybe it is intel´s last socket if broadwell really introduces bga. I hope haswell is only 10-15% faster, so there wouldn´t be a need to upgrade.

Upgrading to Ivy Bridge in existing Hackintosh. i7-3770K

I'd backup all of my important files at first! I think it would work if you upgrade to mountain with your old board and then swap boards. This could work, because gigabyte boards seem to boot without any extra modification. But I'd recommen a clean install, it's not that much work. Besides...

First Build - First Time in Mac World

I think most builds need 10+ installs of OS X until everything really works. You have to be patient, but if you have compatible hardware it will run eventually. A little tip for better installation/recovery: Enable Time Machine as soon as you got a working state, because you can restore any...

    Should Apple Buy AMD?

No, please not! I´d be very happy if Apple would start to use AMD chips in their computers. APUs would be a very reasonable choice for the mac mini, imac and mb-air. AMDs FX CPU would be very powerful and pretty cheap for the entry level Mac Pro. I think the major disadvantage of the FX CPU...

Dell Inspiron 2330 One = Hackintosh?

I didn´t read all the specs, perhaps your motherboard is incompatible as well but your GPU was obvious. You got a AMD 7XXX Graphics, which are currently not supported by OS X, but keep an eye on that news: Tonymac: "OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.3 Beta has AMD Radeon 7XXX drivers http://goo.gl/WKkxG...

OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.3 Beta has AMD Radeon 7XXX drivers

Sweet! Time to throw some cash at the struggling AMD. :) (if it really appears working in the release.)
