I will try to do that again, I have installed grub to multiple different partitions such as /dev/sda3 also the boot loader was in the efi drive that osx created, and in the disk /dev/sda I must be doing something wrong but I do know that chimera/chameleon will pick up a ntsf drive or fat32/16...

I think the way Chameleon/Chimera recognizes an OS to boot is via the GPT partition scheme. There is a field called "Boot Code" which is unrelated to the Partition type. I don't know how to change the "Boot Code" however with Disk Utility in OSX if a fat32 or ntsf (xfat) partition is created...

I don't know why i didn't get the disk error. Probably because I reinstalled so many times trying to get past the grey apple loading screen to finish the install. But thank you for the terminal command. I probably will need it later. Right now I saw some information about making the SSD...

this is what worked for me. selected the fresh install than type (-x) (enter/return) that is how you do a safe mode boot doing that got me into the install screen and now I am just working with the multibeast settings. ~Jon (brand new hackintosher)
