Old stable ElCap install has failed. URGENT HELP!

I've tried following the instructions. Putting the code into Terminal while replacing the SSDs name. chroot: /Volumes/HACK2OLD: Operation not permitted Hack2:~ USERNAME$ rm -rf /Library/Google/GoogleSoftwareUpdate/GoogleSoftwareUpdate.bundle rm...

Old stable ElCap install has failed. URGENT HELP!

Thank Pilgrim (I'll blame bloody Google then!). I'm trying to run the fixes, but can't get anything booting now. And now the newer SSD I moved my files onto has failed too! Honestly, years of plane sailing and now two problems at once. Cheers though...

Old stable ElCap install has failed. URGENT HELP!

Hello Folks. I'm wondering if an expert can look at this verbose screen image and suggest what I can do to fix this very old, and otherwise stable machine. Many Thanks.

Any OSX GPU flashing tools available?

Thanks. I think I will pull the ROM off of my original 280x and copy that to this new one. Getting a copy of Windows and reconfiguring the Hackintosh is such a drag... Boo.

Any OSX GPU flashing tools available?

It's odd then as they are both the same physical unit:

Any OSX GPU flashing tools available?

Hiya. Thanks for you're replies so far. Here's some screengrabs. First two images are from my existing 280x which I bought new, and the second two images are from the 280x I recently bought from eBay. The GPUs physically look the same with the same serial number and REV on the board. There is a...

Any OSX GPU flashing tools available?

I've posted about my GPU problems recently. Basically it's a 280x that seems to have been flashed as a 7950. I need to get it back to it's original state so it matches my existing 280x and then FCPX will hopefully recognise and utilise both cards.

Any OSX GPU flashing tools available?

Are there any flashing tools still available for OSX? Zeus and Freya seem to have disappeared. As far as I can tell the only option is to use DOS tools correct? Thanks.

    280x naming/BIOS problem for FCPX

I've already spoken with the seller about the issue. It was only £85 so I want to keep it and fix it. Any advice on what I should try first will be great. I don't personally have a windows machine, I suppose I could add a temporary Windows SSD to one of my Hackintoshes although I'm not sure what...

    280x naming/BIOS problem for FCPX

Hello. The short version of my question is: I've got two matching Gigabyte GPU's but Lexmark shows one as 'AMD Radeon HD Tahiti XT Prototype Compute Engine', but the other one as 'AMD Radeon HD 7950 Compute Engine'. They have different Device IDs too - the second GPU has a 1002 679A device ID...

    ATI/AMD 5xxx 6xxx 7xxx 2xx 3xx Graphics Cards Framebuffer Personalities

I'm in the same boat with a dual 280x setup. Have you done anything about changing your card names/IDs on your Hackintosh?

Big List of Solutions for El Capitan Install Problems

I had a problem with my Clover install because I use a 3x HDD software RAID built using Disk Utility and if it was connected Clover would freeze, simply showing 'Scanning Entries' or similar. I found a solution through this forum, but perhaps this issue with RAIDs should be included in the list...

Big List of Solutions for El Capitan Install Problems

You need to give a lot more background about how you've got to where you are. Was it a clean install, did you use Multicast etc etc. I have the same Mobo as you and I got it working eventually with a lot of fiddling and experimenting. It was my first time using Clover so...

    FCPX isn't using 280x GPU

FYI RAID is available in 10.11 via the terminal, or via Disk Utilities in Recovery Mode. Personally I just replugged my three existing RAID drives and the RAID mounted with no data loss. Anyway, I'll leave it there. We've hijacked this thread long enough I think!

    FCPX isn't using 280x GPU

Hiya. As I understand it Multibeast/Unibeast are related directly to this particular website, and it has now decided to use Clover for El Capitan installs. My main machine uses the 280x and it's set to never sleep, only the monitors sleep after 15 minutes, and they come back on fine after...

    Prohibited sign with GA-Z77X-UP4 TH

I think you should strip the system down to the bare minimum to get it working first. So use internal graphics and remove all your extra hardware first, then you can chase down individual problems. Did you systems work OK in previous OS's?

    FCPX isn't using 280x GPU

Multibeast is Clover now. Chameleon has been almost perfect since I started building Hacks in 2012, I've built and maintained 4 Hacks with it. So far Clover has required a multitude of reinstalls, searching out manual code to add to the config file and plenty of hair pulling. The fact that you...

    FCPX isn't using 280x GPU

I've just manually copied the EFI/Clover contents from my USB stick back into the SSD EFI partition, then using Text Edit edited the config file with the tweaks I've had to make to deal with the 'Scan Entries' error I was getting with my RAID array attached at boot up. Now, FCP exports BruceX...

    FCPX isn't using 280x GPU

32 seconds under El Capitan is a little disappointing. That's marginally slower than I was getting under 10.8, and El Cap should have improved the times quite a bit. Not that I'm complaining. I mention the HDD in my Yosemite boot up because FCPX does call on the HDD to write to the library...
