BIOS screen has slowed considerably, GA Z77X UP5 TH, help needed

Thank you Bob, that will be my next effort. After reading posts last night I was hopeful I would find success by disabling VT-d in Bios features but the only option is enabling or disabling Intel Virtualization Technology, which I understand to be VT-x. I believe that is what we want to be...

Kext Utility "ML version" is now out...

I am using an older version of Kext Utility (v 2.5.0b) pretty succesfully. I gather, however, that I should download this newer version (v 2.5.1) for a new ML build? There are some positive changes to this version? Then the next question I have... is KextBeast better than Kext Utility? Or...

GIGABYTE GA-Z77X-UP5 TH Thunderbolt (Updated to 10.8.2 and MultiBeast 5.2)

Replying to my last post... I confirmed as others have said, with the DVI port on HD4000 occupied by a display, TB Port 1 will not run the second display. I had read it before but didn't process it. Please excuse my immediately previous post. It has been awhile since I have posted or played...

I am building a new Hackintosh with this board. I want run two displays. The system is up and running without much hassle but it seems that the Thunderbolt port isn't working. I have one display connected through HD4000 DVI and the second through TB port 1 (Mini display port to DVI...

    Dual Displays on HD3000 Motherboards?

And, oh yeah, VGA isn't supported at all with the Mac, is my understanding. I am running dual monitors (HP 2311X LEDs) via HDMI and DVI

    Dual Displays on HD3000 Motherboards?

Hello Timeslice, I finally had the opportunity to run the same monitors, one through HDMI and one through DVI. My non-scientific evaluation is that yes, the DVI seems to be a bit more crisp (text) while the HDMI seems to be a bit better with color ( truer whites and a better warmth). There's...

Will my hardware support a hackintosh?

I've been kicking around in my head a build with an i5-2400 and an EVGA GT 240 that I have access to, but that won't happen for awhile yet. The processor will become available when I upgrade another system with a new processor and the card has been sitting in a box since when I was dreaming up...

Will my hardware support a hackintosh?

http://tonymacx86.com/viewtopic.php?f=1 ... 00+working Check this post out and a search might show some more success, but I'm guessing it is a challenge. Might be fun to try, and always good learnings.

Will my hardware support a hackintosh?

the i5-2400 uses Intel HD 2000, which is also unsupported in OSX. You will still need another graphics card, I believe.

    Hand Holding, upgrade to SSD

Interesting numbers punkshout. I'm a little surprised that the write isn't a bit faster. I wonder how much of this is processor related? I see you have a Core i3 and I'm using a Core i7 in my laptop. Your read is stronger than mine (OWC Merc Extreme) but my write is a touch better. All in...

    Carbon Copy to SSD

No problem at all. I've received such fantastic support that I always want to help whenever I can. I'll admit that sometimes my enthusiasm to help may have led people the wrong way. We all have lots of learning and that is haLF THE FUN. This morning I'm going to try and install Lion on an...

    Carbon Copy to SSD

I'm guessing that you haven't reinstalled Chimera. It doesn't copy to your SSD when you use CCC. Run Multibeast and check Chimera again... see if that gets you to where you want to be...

    CustoMac Pro in march 2012

I use a 120 GB SSD (OCZ agility 3) in my Hack and an OWC 120 GB Extreme Pro in my laptop with the OSX and User files on them. My Media files are on the mechanical drive. I just select that library for itunes and iphoto. To take full advantage of the SSD when working on your media files, move...

Moving OSX from a HDD to an SSD

OS X Handles the SSD change just fine. I went from an HDD to an SSD with a working Hackintosh and performance was quite good (120 GB OCZ Agility 3). I'm very happy with the upgrade. I used Carbon Copy Cloner for the cloning of the HDD. A couple links that might help...
