a bit osx offtopic, I've got this expansion card yesterday and hooked it up to a Apple thunderbolt display (windows 8.1) and sound everything is working ok, I haven't installed yosemite yet because I have a haswell petium in the z97 A mobo. I've another build with a gtx 750 ti evga (light ivy...
Hi. Did you do a clean install? Try to download the latest Mavericks release from the App Store and install it already with 10.9.1
I did a clean install and then loaded my settings from the timeMachine/synology. Freezes free!
The only trouble I had with mavericks was some thunderbolt display...
Latest pics - testing ubuntu and maybe Mint later
Note about Mavericks and Thunderbolt display: Changed the RAM 16gb 2X8 from slot 1, 2 to 1,3 and thunderbolt display had some issues changed back to slot 1,2 on Mavericks and is working 100%
My Mbeast at the moment, with the latest Mavericks...
Great find B-San, I noticed a few glitches after 1.8.3 on mavericks seems ok.
I tried voodoo on Mountain Lion, yet I found that the sound quality wasn't great, so I use the thunderbolt speakers or the usb->amplifier for sound.
I will have a go at the current version of voodoo, although I prefer...
Anyone with USB 3 ports issues on mavericks and the GA-Z77MX-D3H TH (rev. 1.0)
Try the new GenericUSBXHCI 1.2.7 :
http://sourceforge.net/projects/genericusbxhci/files/
Article: OS X 10.8.5 Update
USB 2 and 3 they both work now, after installing the USB kext. Thank you Stork!
Download the GenericUSBXHCI.kext and install using Kext Utility;
Repair Permissions again;* and
GA-Z77MX-D3H TH (rev. 1.0) F6b
Followed Stork's instructions, the only issue is the USB3 ports, they will only recognise USB3 pens/storage, after the update. Everything else is working fine.
Have you tried safe boot -x after you install mLion with the unibeast USB? Try safe mode on the first boot, if you see the endless spinning wheel.
After that, on mLion Disable graphics on multibeast options, remove the mBeast usb and reboot again and change the plist to the type of iGPU or...
Just my two cents, after using this GA mobo and a TBdisplay for 9 months on my hackintosh.
If you switch off the PSU, and start the machine again both thunderbolt ports will work with the Apple TB Display.
TB devices "chain" probably can be mislead by thunderbold ports on a non mac machine...
Good luck, yet remember that you are reversing my process, on thunderbolt channels its fine, and my usb sound adapter chip might be different from the way Apple made the USB sound Cinema display connection.
Old news (snow leopard maybe), they mention something about sound, its a similar...
No, sound works on the the Thunderlbolt display, out of the box, but this is thunderbolt(video/sound/data), if your are using a mini display port(video), usb Cinema display(audio) it should work fine, but you better ask someone with a Cinema display Monitor, I never tried this mobo on a cinema...
I use this for sound, Audio - Behringer Guitar Link UCG102 USB Interface Version: 1.0 Texas Instruments Japan

You can find more about this mobo's sound outputs here...
I followed the simple steps described on tony's post and everything went fine, I only used Multibeast.
You could try the Chameleon wizard to create and files. I hope this helps.

That happened to me too, but only once or twice when I was testing the CPU overclock. A few days ago I updated to 10.8.3 and my machine continues stable (safari is great now. it was crap, crashing etc but this was a problem also mentioned by other people with genuine Apple products and Mountain...
Thanks for the advice! Yes some amd cards have Minidp, just waiting to see if 10.8.3 really comes with radeon 7 series card support and then I will see if I get a 6 series or a 7, the HD4000 Igpu can handle the work I do at the moment. Yet I am not sure the miniDport will work on ATdisplay, its...
My mobo is different but it should be possible, have a look around Tmac and ask other users with the GA-Z77X-UP5 TH. I will try a friend's old GTX480 later to see how it works. I'am waiting for apple to release a new Mac Pro and 10.8.3 Mlion and see what they do with the thunderbolt port and...
Its possible in theory but its not that simple on Mountain Lion, due to lack of Apple drivers.
These eGPUS adapters should be the best solution but to get the full power of the Dgpu we have to pay more for a good adapter...
