I used my internal shell (Intel Nuc), but you can also do it with clover.
Steps to remove old boot entries :
In UEFI Shell type : bcfg boot dump
(this will give you a list of boot config options in Bios).
Look for the EFI entries you want to delete. They all have double numbers like : option...
Tried to install Big Sur on a NUC8i5BEH. Well, it works! Only problem i had (and more people do) is
when using Chrome or Safari in full screen mode (Netflix or Youtube) the colors of the nightlight are
changing when using full screen or subtitles in Netflix. Already found a better solution for...
I cannot remember for sure, but I believe I had the same problem too. I used the HDMI connection without problems.
Sold the computer already I'm now on a 8th Gen Intel NUC running Catalina.
No. There are no kext drivers available for it, so you have to use external card reader. (which to me, isn't a problem).
I was wrong. Post #606 (Leesureone) posted the kext for it. It also works on my Nuc!
I tried all that, but didn't work. For me, i leave it like it is, because audio over HDMI works just fine, so i use that.
Tonight i had the idea to try MacOs Catalina with the same EFI folder from post #430, and believe it or not, but i was able to succesfully install MacOs Catalina Beta on my...
I'm on BIOS 56 (still), and was able to install 10.14.6. with the updated efi folder from post #430. Easiest install ever.
Except...Audio! Audio over HDMI works fine, but audio from the headphone jack has a rumble in it. Tried to copy all the kexts to /Library/Extensions like in post 430, but...
Funny indeed how things can be different on the same machine. One way or the other..just don't upgrade your bios from 0056. My machine runs super stable, and i'm still surprised how such a small computer can run Mojave like a breeze without any problems.
Removing the jumper didn't work for me (tried it a couple of times). The F4 option (bios recovery) worked without removing the jumper. Also..a guy mentioned that you have to put the *bio file on a completely formatted fat32 stick. Quick format didn't work also. Well..at least you could do it...
I noticed when i boot, my DP acts strange. I have to unplug the cable, boot with HDMI only, and when i'm on the desktop i can plug it back in (hotswap). Maybe something isn't quite right with dp port. Can't help you with that.
btw, i'm running 10.14.3 for a couple of weeks now on 8I5BEH, runs...
btw : i formatted my usb stick with fat32 in Disk Utility. That seemed to work too.
Answers to your questions :
a) - Yes, my HDD led doesn't light up as it used to. So i have the same issue here.
b) - Yes, also a slowdown over here.
I had the same issue downgrading from v61. None of the options worked until i tried the "Bios Recovery" option. That worked for me!

By the way, i used the "Power Button Menu" option, and then F4 (BIOS...
I updated my Bios firmware to the latest version (61 i believe). Couldn't install/boot Macos anymore. Even older versions (sierra/high sierra) didn't boot. So i went back to bios version 56. Installed High Sierra without any problems on NUC8I5BEH with only using multibeast, voodoohda audio and...
I finally gave up on Nvidia, got a RX560 and it's working on sierra/high sierra and Mojave out of the box. Since Mojave is now doing it's "metal" stuff, it could be a long wait for Nvidia to release drivers which are actually usable. I hope for all the nvidia users it will be soon that they will...
