    Hackintosh Pro $4000: i9 (8 cores), AMD vega 64, LG 5K, mojave 10.4.x

Corsair LPX works just fine for me since early 2016. At 69€, 2 x 8GB of 2667MHz were a steal, by today's standards. And 3200MHz is more than enough. High speed memory are overpriced, and DDR3/4 speed have little impact on performance, as LinusTechTips proved on his YouTube channel. It was...

    Sound on GA-Z270X Gaming 7

This motherboard uses a Creative audio solution, instead of ALC. Audio's not compatible, apparently.

Easy-to-install skylake mobo with good audio outputs?

Good for you. Be aware, though, that only the motherboard's rear (green) analog audio output is amplified. The headphone output from you case isn't.

Easy-to-install skylake mobo with good audio outputs?

Well, it's the best onboard-audio I've heard, by far, in 9 years of hackintoshes. Better than the Kaby Lake gen by Gigabyte, as well, from Rightmark audio measurements I've seen. I use an AKG K712Pro headphone and I no longer need to power it through my receiver with a 20' cable. I think it'd...

LG UltraFine 5k and GA-Z170X-UD3 Ultra

How is it even possible? My 55" OLED TV draws 110W.

Audio Hissing [Gigabyte z170x UD5 TH, El Capitan]

Those kind of things are often related to the PSU. If it's a cheap one, the power load may affect electrical tension, and sound quality suffer from it.

Struggling for audio, ga-z170-ud5-th with ALC1150

It doesn't work for me either. I tried the CodecCommander thing after install, about three months ago, but best case scenario, I got sound one time and it disappears if I change the output from the software (from headphones to a receiver, for instance). Usually, it doesn't work at all, nor does...

[GUIDE] Jerivalu’s Build: Fresh 10.11.5, Z170X-UD5 TH, 6700k, Intel HD 530, Thunderbolt, Dual Boot

There's this thread but I haven't tried it out yet: http://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/fix-no-sound-after-sleep-on-1150-and-possibly-other-realteks.170063/ Because it seems to be a real pain, with a risk of kernel panic. If people with working edited CodecCommander cared to share it with us for...

Unpatched, Original AppleHDA.kext El Capitan 10.11.5

I don't think it has changed, since no reinstallation was needed after updating from 10.11.5.

[GUIDE] Jerivalu’s Build: Fresh 10.11.5, Z170X-UD5 TH, 6700k, Intel HD 530, Thunderbolt, Dual Boot

Not sure, but I think I've read somewhere that you should use a 16 or 32GB USB stick. As you can read on the few last lines, your freeze's USB related, anyway. There are so many ways things can go wrong, try to stick with 100% approved hardware. Good luck.

Personally, I wouldn't trust any TLC SSD too much, especially from Samsung. I own two MLC ones, that I bought around 2013, and the Sandisk Ultra Plus I abused for a while, downloading a lot of stuff, barely passes the SMART test. Once a cell is dead, it becomes "read only", you shouldn't lose...

Well, I think I got lucky, for once: on the last message from the 44-page thread you mentioned (which I promised to myself not to read entirely), someone mentioned cleansing the kernel cache. I did that and it seems to work.

Thanks, Stork. You made my day. I was tired of trials and errors. I had Chimera on both my OSX startup disks and wondered a while why I couldn't make it through to the Clover booting process. The destination SSD needed to be erased first.

[GUIDE] Jerivalu’s Build: Fresh 10.11.5, Z170X-UD5 TH, 6700k, Intel HD 530, Thunderbolt, Dual Boot

Is there a guide for the sound after sleep, somewhere? I've just finished migrating to a z170x-ud5 th. No sound after sleep's my only issue. I wouldn't like to mess up the all thing, out of ignorance.

[GUIDE] Jerivalu’s Build: Fresh 10.11.5, Z170X-UD5 TH, 6700k, Intel HD 530, Thunderbolt, Dual Boot

Yes, you should The board only has one HDMI out, and Thunderbolt 3 doesn't work, so you'd have to use an adaptor.

Hi guys, I received my motherboard today and updated the Bios, but I have a few questions before running Unibeast+Multibeast: 1. Can I install first HD530, then my GTX670 on the same drive? The latter's getting old, and it might prove handy to be able to swap using a Bios setting, rather than...

    Thunderbolt for Hackintosh

Thunderbolt 3 isn't supported by Apple right now. It won't work. At all. An adapter should be available soon, but there's no proof it'll work either.

Easy-to-install skylake mobo with good audio outputs?

Well, I've just ordered a UD5TH. Good thing is I'll be able to test it off case, thanks to the power button. I've got this on my current mobo as well. Very useful, once in a 3 years. :D

Easy-to-install skylake mobo with good audio outputs?

Easiest, sure, but for 10$ you can only buy cheap Chinese crap, and I don't want a USB sound card, since it's stereo only, and can't support a cable long enough to reach my receiver. Apple made a huge improvement on audio, though. I stuck with ML till late 2015, because there's no fix for my...
