    Thank you. I've tried installing High Sierra from usb several times (after erasing target system hard drive, etc before each try) and then after restart, selecting the internal hard drive as the boot option. Each time it takes me to the "MACOS COULD NOT BE INSTALLED ON YOUR COMPUTER" error...

    Thanks Toleda. So to confirm, what I need to do is: - update my Yosemite install to 10.10.2 - restart - clear kernal cache - reinstall appleHDA.kext - restart If this is not correct or is a better way to do it, please let me know... Thanks, Mark
