Some questions regarding getting an Asus laptop to work

I'm having the same problem. I updated the latest bios for the machine, but still no luck. I wasn't able to install without using GUID. MBR partition did not allow me to install 10.8, only a GUID partiton would work. Did you solve the prob. or did you give up. Appreciate any help!

    Mountain Lion HDMI Audio

Thanks for the quick response. Do you know if it would be possible to have BOTH as an option listed? This would be ideal rather than having to "substitute" one for the other. Thanks!

    Mountain Lion HDMI Audio

toleda, you're awesome. I finally got back to my build and got the HDMI audio working with the quick use of your guide and kit v4. For some reason I passed over deleting the HDAEnabler888 kext. then changing the layout id was simple. Now, I have another favor to ask of you: to make my build...

    Mountain Lion HDMI Audio

dragadog, the onboard HDMI works great, you need to add a few lines in the Extra/org.chameleon.boot.plist file. Add the following and you won't have a problem. I'm using the GA-Q77-D2H and without this upon startup it is garbled and used to unplug and replug, not anymore: Open...

I echo this request, looking for a nice quick selection in MultiBeast for: HDMI Discrete audio with Ivy Bridge/HD4000; -specifically since the GA-Q77-D2H is "ADVERTISED" in the "Custo Mac" section. (was hoping everything would be patched or resolved and working 100% due to the listing ) Thanks!

Mountain Lion HDMI Audio - AMI DSDT

Hi toleda, I have attached the IOreg file. The only reason I mentioned the SPDIF/ Digital Optical out note, is because before I did the DSDT edit, my other sound option was listed as "SPIDIF" and not "Digital Optical Out". I didn't know if that would have made any difference in trouble...

Mountain Lion HDMI Audio - AMI DSDT

Toleda your awesome at what you do, but I'm missing something when going through your guide to get my HDMI audio working. Everything on my build is working except the audio over hdmi. I have used MultiBeast with the "w/out DSDT-ALC887" and all onboard audio seems to be working fine (with...

unknown CPU model 0x3a, Ivy Bridge w/ GA-q77m-d2h

I have been racking my head on this all day and finally gave in to see if anyone could help. I have a Gigabyte GA-q77m-d2h with a 3570k Ivy Bridge and I am using Mountain Lion 10.8.1. Once I run anything with Chimera I get: getCPUIDInfo: this is an unknown CPU model 0x3a But If I don't run...
