Thanks madman. I have the same board and CPU and was able to update after following step 2. I didn't skip updating to APFS and just ran the update as normal and it still worked fine for me.
Thanks, great guide. I have a GA-Z77X-UD5H with a 3570K. Initially my install hung on the black apple logo boot screen, but I followed step 2 here from madman1234 to drop MATS in config.plist and after that it went through easily. I didn't do the step to skip converting to APFS and it still...
Hi all
I'm working on a Mac Classic mod with a Mini-ITX board, and I'm running into an issue with my chosen display.
I have a perfect 8" 800x600 LCD that I was originally using with a Raspberry Pi. It's a VGA screen, but I used an HDMI to VGA converter box to adapt it to the Pi, and because...
Yes, thanks! I intended to get the 3225 with the Intel 4000 graphics. How did I mess that up! I had it on my list and everything.
Guess I'll do a return and try again!
Thanks
Hi all
This is my second Hackintosh. The first was a breeze, but this time I am using an i3 3240 with Intel graphics (no discrete GPU) and a mini-iTX H77n-Wifi board.
I used this guide for the most part but with Mavericks.
Installation went perfectly fine, but when I tried to boot from my...
I had previously built this little emulator box inside a Macintosh Classic based around the Raspberry Pi. I was pleased with the result externally, but I have come to my wits end struggling with the Pi’s very limited power and occasional issues like corrupted SD cards. In honor of the Mac’s 30th...
I'm going to be running this tonight on my CustoMac Pro 2012 with the GA-Z77X-UD5H, Intel 3570K, and NVIDIA GeForce GTX670. As my build is pretty typical around here and I've had little in the way of problems in the past I expect a relatively easy upgrade. (Knock on wood.)
I'll post back here...
Yeah, no idea why but I had to download the .dmg from Apple.com rather than using the regular update.
So far I'm a big fan of the new iTunes Radio. It has several things I like better than Pandora and other similar services. I hope they continue to create "featured stations" with interesting...
Surprisingly enough, this worked for me. Generating the new serial number and rolling back to Chimera 2.0.1 seems to be the best and simplest option for me right now, as none of the Chimera improvements since then have really applied to my build. Thanks for the recommendation!
I've gone through these instructions several times and have gotten nowhere. :-(
One question: You mentioned that your "nvram.00020003-0004-0005-0006-000700080009.plist" file is in /Extra/modules, but mine appears to be just in /Extra. Is that correct? This is the only difference I can possibly...
Man, I'm getting no luck with any of these methods. I had perfectly working iMessage after the Chimera update a while back that fixed it (I think 2.0 or thereabouts) and hadn't done any updates since. Then about a week ago my iMessage suddenly quit working.
I have tried:
Reinstalling Chimera...
Thanks, I'll give this a try. Are you using this fix with the latest version of Chimera? And have you had to make any changes to your computer's serial number or other info?
A while back my iMessage quit working but was fixed by using a then-beta version of Chameleon as my bootloader. As soon as the fix was incorporated into Chimera I switched back to that bootloader.
Now the same issue has returned. I'm not able to log into iMessage, and I gather that I'm not...
Thanks for clearing this up. Very informative. I noticed the decrease in my LuxMark score immediately but was baffled that I saw no decrease in performance in Motion or Final Cut Pro X.
Article: Chimera 2.0 Now Available with iMessage Login Fix
Thanks for the info. Wasn't sure if this was something I should be concerned about, but indeed, everything is working swimmingly.
I installed the update over top of the Chameleon version with the iMessage fix. Everything works, but I'm seeing this flash very briefly across my screen at boot:
I'm thinking it might be related to the files left behind by Chameleon but I'm not sure what to remove. Anybody have any ideas?
Nice! This was a major irritation, and I was never completely confident using the alternative bootloaders. I tried Clover (too confusing!) and then the version of Chameleon with the iMessage fix (worked, but I prefer to use the TonyMac tools because of the community support.)
These look great. I've been thinking about building a small hackintosh in one of the classic all-in-one Macintoshes, like I've seen recently on this site, and these boards would make it incredibly simple. I'm thinking I could even just use mSATA for the boot drive and have almost nothing inside...
