I did the same build as you using the 3225 processor and had the same "flickering" issue. I suspect its an issue with OSX graphics acceleration and the HD4000 processor. I tried many things and could not resolve the issue. I installed a graphics card to fix the issue.

I'm finding out. I emailed pny tech support and there reply was: Whats XMP? :-).
What does it mean if the RAM does not support XMP? That it will not work or will I have to change some bios settings?
Another difference I forgot to mention is I'm using the i3 3225 CPU. I'm going to start support cases with pny and gigabyte. It could be a bad stick of ram.
