It look like you going for some nice "power build"
It would better if you get a 240 gig SSD....it's cheap only 170$...
and good for future proof.. because Mac application is heavy.. like Final Cut which alone require 100 gig lol...
That's all i see because it make no sense to go cheap on...
If i were you i would do a clean installation using a PRE-Made 10.8.2 Usb stick...
But anyway for your info.
1st time I install lion on 10.8.0 i use official apple update through the OS... and it work ok.... nothing crash on mine..
2nd time I clean install 10.8.0 and i use the...
You download mountain lion from the "app store" application..on your mac.
OR... you go to your friend who have a mac..and tell him to download it for you..
Or youtube will have your answer in video...
That's normal....
But if you want "remove 1 gig of useless junk" then go download the app: "monolingual"
That software will scan and remove all "useless language that you do not speak"......obviously you have to select the language pack you don't want to keep on your mac.
I remove most of it...
Man ....
Since you already have sucessful experience installed previous Hackintosh... I am assuming you know all the boot flag and such like
the:
-v -x graphicsenabler=no npci=0x2000
The boot flag above should boot "most pc "...
But I am going to assume you tried that and it didn't work...
Hello,
Here is some answer that I do know:
First, can I run Mountain Lion on my PC? <-- I don't know you have to install mountain lion on it to know..
CPU: Intel Q8200 <-- you need to install mountain lion on it to know... <-- maybe someone else who have sucessfully installed mountain...
I don't understand.... why do you try to fix something that already work perfect?........
"Hi I installed Mountain Lion on my i7 with a GeForce 640. It booted up everything went perfect. I could run both monitors including my 30" at 2560x resolution and my internet worked. " <-- Go...
Uh, just for reference
Making a MLion usb stick using Unibeast take me..20-30 min... not 2-5 sec.. If it's that fast then it's wrong.
I think it's your mountain lion.app ...... is error you need to re-download it.
Like i said few post ago, if using unibeast don't work,
use an alternative...
I can't believe what i am reading....
If you installed successfully Mountain Lion on your hackintosh using a "MLion usb installer" . Then update the mac which crash it.
There should be NO problem to : reformat the hard drive and then RE-Partition using GPT or MBR for certain people depend on...
I already said few post ago what you route you should do... but if you insist on changing smbios.plist
I use champlist software to change my smbios mac model + it generate serial number.
So your friend already have mountain lion on their mac. The route I would take is the easy way...
I don't know if this would help you but..
On mountain Lion i change the smbios.plist to
MacPro 3,1 to MacPro 5,1 and then Imac12, and then back to MacPro3,1
it doesn't crash my computer. But you need to delete a file name: AppleTyMCEDriver.kext
Other wise on mountain lion if you...
uh ...
#1 you are trying to upgrade a "non official mac".... and you want to keep all your file and app and system setting ...(i don't think it will work flawlessly)
#2 Rule number 1 in computer is alway backup. And clearly upgrade is a big step. which mean you need to Backup the image...
yes, r15177 is right.
You need a working videocard kext that work on 10.8.2...
Usually a 10.8.0 kext videocard suppose to work but in your case it does not....
tough luck..
1st: I thought Mountain Lion only support core 2 duo and higher. So maybe it reboot because of "unsupport cpu model"
2nd: You can try a making a MLion Usb installer on a New usb like "kingston brand"
3rd: You can use "alternative" of unibeast ...to make your usb install key.
good luck.
lol, you spent 4 day.
I spend 1 months on just making a Working Mountain Lion Usb stick alone. lol
And then when i get the stick working. I spent 5 day on just installation Mountain Lion
then i spent 1 more week on getting drivers and customization without a DSDT ....
I don't know if it...
That screen show that
it's TRYING to load video driver but it fail. So it froze you.
try this command: -v -x graphicsenabler=no npci=0x2000
This command should get you boot and let you INSTALL a proper video driver.
Good luck- I use have to same problem like your so i know...
Wow it seem you are pretty unlucky.
the command: -v -x graphicsenabler=no npci=0x2000
is suppose to boot on all duo core intel higher computer.
So only 2 thing left i can see.
1: install new bootloader overlap/replace on your usb
2: use an alterantive Mountain Lion usb creator...
I want you to think about this...clearly.
#1 you are using hackintosh and trying to buy "legit" mountain lion from apple store.
#2 you "want" to upgrade from 10.6.8 ..to mountain lion with your "old kext driver of audio, video, lan"
From what i know some driver actually have to...
