I'm glad I first carbon copied my drive to try this update. I have done the last 3 major updates with only very minor issues. (new kexts needed for audio or ethernet)
This update however, presents many issues for my rev 1.0.
Generally I get halfway done booting and am presented with a 0 with...
Your config file calls an older version of MB. 6.1 rather than 7x
Was this on purpose? I ran your config file and just agreed to the changes that 7x has. However, now my system won't boot. :) Going back to previous settings for now.
Thanks for the comments back. I don't really want to go backwards.. I guess I will format my hard drive and do a fresh install this weekend. I just don't understand why this is happening though, I was rock solid for one year on 10.8. If anyone else has any guesses, I'm open to trying something...
schwartzki:
Have you been running without lockups ever since the bios update and ethernet change?
I only recently upgraded to Mavericks and have been disappointed with random freezes ever since then. (Ran pre-mavericks without one freeze for more than a year)
I have the exact same setup as...
Just thought I would point out a SOLUTION to version 1.1 ethernet problems! I have used this Z77-DS3H board for 5 builds and #6 I was confused that ethernet wouldn't work out of the box. This guy has a solution that worked great for me...

LOST audio on Z77-DS3H and Ivy CPU. Everything else appears to be ok. Booted fine, and geek bench at 10,000 after update. (32 bit)
UPDATE: To get audio back on Z77-DS3H simply run multibeast and ONLY select ALC887/888B **CURRENT! Restart and then go into sound settings. Double click "Internal...
I have both now as I was having a heck of a time getting HD3000 to work in ML when HD4000 works great. I would recommend Ivy because it uses less power and is more powerful in ways.
If I choose to use the definition of Mac_Mini I get a kernel panic and can't boot with any flags. Must re-install. Only luck with my setup is Mac_Pro3,1 however this doesn't give me any HD3000 goodness. Also note that I could not use Chimera at all as it would break my setup 100% of the time...
Interesting. I am using mac3,1 (pro) and I don't get graphic support at all :( Strange things indeed for us on HD3000. I just ordered an ivy bridge though with HD4000 to try my luck...
I totally feel your pain man. I am convinced something is messed up with MB at the moment. Anytime I run Chimera I get panics. We need like a legacy Chimera setting for older boards. The new one only seems to work correctly with the Ivy CPU's.
We finally found a way to get a good boot without...
I seem to be 1 baby step away from 100% here. Can I just buy a graphics card that supports OSX and simply plug it in to fix my last problem of low res and not full graphic support? If so what's the cheapest method to get me able to push 1920x1080?
Using Mac_Mini made my HD3000 work in Lion but...
If that doesn't work use this detailed tut: http://www.tonymacx86.com/mountain-lion-desktop-support/63061-ga-z77-ds3h-perfect-until-mb-chimera-install-2.html#post402722
I also would get KP no matter what settings I used. This solved it for me.
I also cannot get HD3000 to work. However, setting my definition to mac_Mini like I did with Lion causes a KP in Mountain Lion. I assume we can solve our problems by simply getting a graphics card? 550 the cheapest option that works natively in ML?
Hazahhh!!!! Following your guide this time 100% did indeed work 100%! For the first time I can now boot into Mountain Lion with absolutely no panics and no thumb drive!! THANKS THANKS THANKS scisslehannd!!!
I was going wrong by choosing Mac_Mini instead of pro. Which leaves me with my last...
