Edited OP: Thanks to a lot of different threads in this forum (thanks!!!) I finally managed to sort out the auto sleep issue and som USB unresponsiveness after wake.
Need to change "darkwake=0" in org.Chameleon.Boot.plist to "darkwake=no" in order to get auto sleep to work. Still had issues...
Updated OP with Multibeast 5.0.2 configuration.
Wouldn't recommend the ASUS USB-bt211, having some freezing problems with multitouch. Have ordered a Rocketfish bt adapter instead.
No luck, but I havn't really been trying to solve it either.... In my setup I have my NAS connected to my router so I don't need the second NIC at the moment. If I solve it I'll be sure to post the solution.
Edit: Had another look at the Ethernet problem, realized that one port is Atheros and...
For anyone having problem dualbooting Win 8 and OSX from Chimera (dedicated ssd to each OS), this is how I finally got it working:
- Unplugged all my discs that wasn't supposed to hold the Win 8 installation
- Entered the cmd prompt at the first win 8 installation screen (choosing language...
2 reasons I would say.... When I was Reading up on the board I saw lots of recomendations saying it was best to turn off 1394a support in the BIOS for stability reasons. So for the Price of the Syba card I thought it was better to be safe than sorry.
Second reason is that I transfer lots of...
Finally managed it!
- Unplugged all my discs that wasn't supposed to hold the Win 8 installation
- Entered the cmd prompt at the first win 8 installation screen (choosing language etc.) through shift+F10 and then:
Select disc 0
Clean
create partition primary size=xxx (xxx=whatever you disc...
Finally got Win 8 and OSX 10.8 dual booting working from Chimera. Also added an extra Noctua fan to my Antec cooling system for push/pull config.
Confirmed auto sleep problem, manually putting system to sleep poses no problem. Any ideas?
I can confirm firewire with the Syba card is working oob (tried it with a SanDisk CF-Card reader and a 1394A cable, will try with a 1394B cable given the chance)
Chimera is not displaying System Reserved partition, guess I'll have to try to install Win 8 without System Reserved Partition... (I know it's possible in WIN 7, don't know about win8).
To be honest I havn't actually tried out my firewire port. Will try it out tonight with a firewire cf-card reader. Will report back with result and possible fix.
Did you find a solution to your problem? I have the same issue when trying to get dual booting working. Also everytime I manually boot into Win 8 my BIOS boot order gets reordered by the win 8 boot loader...
I upgraded to the latest bios firmware, F8 and then followed this simple but great guide by "thelostswede": http://www.tonymacx86.com/99-quick-guide-configuring-uefi-gigabyte-s-7-series-lga-1155-boards.html
I also enabled xmp profile 1 in order to fully use the capacity of my RAM.
I have a similar setup. I had the same problem as you at first but when I booted the Unibeast USB with the PCIRootUID=0I had no problem installing ML with my GTX 560 Ti (MSI) hooked up. Didn't even need to run any drivers/kext for the GPU, actually broke my compatability when I tried once...
4.8ghz, that's impressive. What's your voltage when you are running at that level? What kind of temps are you seeing when stress testing in Prime95? I'm running at 4.5ghz with a voltage of 1.175, max temps around c 75.
I'm going to set up my Antec cooler in a push/pull config to see if that...
