Elvisior, that is terrible news! I hope you find a decent replacement. MrGeque when I updated to the newest version of Lilu, the computer did boot and it appeared that it was running at 60Hz, but I would need to perform tests to verify that as it no longer listed the frequency under Displays...

Thanks for the info! I didn't remove the edid patch when I tested it out and will try that now. Edit: I tried to figure out which lines under DeviceProperties specifically related to the edid patch but I may have left in some lines that should have been removed (or deleted too many). After...

If I add the new WhateverGreen and alter the config.plist entry i still get 48 but it takes 2.5 minutes to boot instead of 40 seconds and the system barely runs.

That's great to hear! I couldn't find the info on 60Hz on WhateverGreen you mentioned other than for use on external monitors. Do you have a link? At the resolution I mentioned in an earlier comment I don't get screen glitching (which I do at 1920 x 1080), except on some video streaming...

Try cloning it to a second external. If the cloned external won't boot up, you may be facing a different issue anyhow. I had cloned to an external originally just to play with the install while still being able to run my normal system while debugging the upgrade. It just turned out that the...

You should be able to run Flashrom from just about any computer with a LiveUSB of a Linux distro.

I installed Big Sur to my internal and CCC'd it immediately to an external as soon as I had full access to the OS, then I CCC'd it back and overwrote the original partition. I'm pretty sure that's at the end of second boot? After you are asked to enter region, user info, etc.

If you don't have any software options, you could use a CH341a to write directly to the chip by opening the back of the laptop. The kit is probably around 15 bucks. Ex. on YouTube (not sure if I'm allowed to submit links so will give title for you to search): How to use a BIOS flasher w/ Test...

I can post the EFI from my installer as well, as that will probably have a slightly different config.plist and you can try that. I do want to mention that upon my first install as soon as I was able to boot into Big Sur I used Carbon Copy Cloner to clone my macOS partition to a backup. At the...

The only thing that doesn't work for me is the internal microphone, which also won't register in Linux at all and I doubt that will change. Sleep works okay... I think there is a way to enable S3 sleep, but I never really had that working in the past either so I haven't bothered to try. Have...

I would highly recommend using rEFInd for your triple boot. My rEFInd is setup to boot OpenCore, Windows, Grub and a specific Linux kernel directly. You can setup the config file in rEFInd to automatically locate EFI files in your EFI folder. I have my OC config set so that it doesn't show...

Which EFI folder did you use? The one I posted or the one from Feb 7? Have you tried enabling the Debug flags in config.plist and adding Debug OC files?

elvisor, try re-installing to see if that solves the problem. i also updated to the same BIOS and i have the old BIOS file but after reverting Big Sur would not boot. Re-installing does not wipe the data unless you actively choose to do that, it re-installs the core os and keeps your system...

I'm surprised to hear that you haven't gotten this running yet! I used your EFI folder from the other thread and have had Big Sur running since mid-December with two OS updates. I'm pretty sure we have the same triple boot setup. Have you update to the new BIOS? That was something I wanted to...

Have you enabled debugging in OpenCore? This will give you a good starting point in helping us figure out the problem.

I cannot view the internal screen

Could it be a CFG Lock issue? I went to disable mine and realized it was already disabled, so I'm guessing the previous owner had already done that, as UEFITool says that it's default state is on for this laptop.

I cannot view the internal screen

If I remember correctly, after adding the default changes to config.plist recommended to Debug in the Dortania guide I was suddenly booting into the installer. There's no sense to why that would work, but I don't remember making another change other than the kext mentioned above. In Big Sur, a...

Unfortunately there is already a new reply on the thread saying that they won't be (or can't) fix via BIOS. I'm already talking to someone in a BIOS mod forum but after looking through the BIOS myself it looks like the microphone should theoretically be enabled by default. Looking into a fix...

I cannot view the internal screen

Navaira, I am booting into Big Sur with no problem with the EFI you provided not long ago, my only edits were to the ROM and serial number other than a few minor tweaks. I did find it completely impossible to load Big Sur after initial install until I used CCC to clone BS to an external drive...

    (GUIDE) Dell Inspiron 15 7573 - Catalina 10.15.7 - OC 0.6.0 | I7-8550U - 4K - UHD 620 - BEST 100% Simple SETUP

Running at 1920 x 1080 (48hz) causes a horizontal glitch/hiccup on the screen every minute or so, maybe less. I'm not sure if this is other user's experience but the scaling I'm currently using does not.
