as far as i know , the native intel usb 3 port in H77 chipset will work with both usb2/3 devices .. but the native intel usb 3 port in Z77 chipset will work only with usb3 devices

right after install PXHCD it will replace the applexhciusb.kext ,, so maybe that kext its the solution

make sure u have EHCI enable in bios ,,, try to disable Xchi from bios and try the usb2 mouse on usb3 port ,,,
