Be careful Sonoma 14.1.2 update bricked my ASUS motherboard

You think this applies to all ASUS Z390 mobo's? I still have an "Asus ROG Strix Z390E Gaming" Motherboard that I upgraded to a few years ago. Did you start with a regular 14.0 installation and then do the update via the OS? Trying to avoid an unnecessary headache if I can help it. Maybe I need...

Mojave - Additional SATA PCIe & USB 3.0 PCIe Recommendations?

Hello, I successfully built my Mojave upgrade. I'm having trouble finding a PCIe card that works with this build for an extra USB 3.0 19-pin slot (my chassis has two cables, and the motherboard only has one, and I thought I'd be able to simply plug in an extra PCIe to take care of the second...

System massively slowed down by Safari (or Chrome)

When you say 'idle', I'm assuming you don't also include 'sleep mode' do you? I'm running into this issue big time, and not sure how to work around it other than constantly having to shut down and restart every time I want to use my computer. Is it a matter of replacing with a different GPU?

    High Sierra Installation Failure

When you load Clover, go to Options > add "-v" to your bootflags, then restart and boot into your boot thumb drive again. This will give you a better picture of what error you're hitting. The freezing means it's likely hanging on an error.

Could not modify plist error...unibeast 8.1

Already went through that list. I guess you didn't notice the plist problem isn't listed in there. For those who will actually read what I'm writing: 1) Is there a way to fix this plist issue on the app? 2) If not, is there a guide somewhere to manually edit the plist, with a...

10.11.3 "Sound assertion in AppleHDADriver at line 1552"

I attempted to re-install the bootloader using MultiBeast, but ran into "The installation failed" error: "The Installer encountered an error that caused the software to fail. Check the MultiBeast.log Install log for more details." I could not find where this "MultiBeast.log Install log" is...

10.11.3 "Sound assertion in AppleHDADriver at line 1552"

A few weeks ago I successfully upgraded from Yosemite to El Capitan 10.11.3. For the longest time I've used Chameleon and have had little to no trouble with it. I had attempted installing Yosemite using Clover when Yosemite was first available, but that threw tons of errors at me and it seems...

No Display/USB after wake on 10.11

Could you elaborate a little more on your configuration? Are you bridging radeons? Is there a way for the wake to work with only one radeon..?

Successfully changed Ethernet to "en0" but App Store still can't verify computer.

Copied and Pasted the EFI string into the com.apple.Boot.plist instead, restarted, and successfully logged in to App Store, yay! Working: - App Store - FaceTime Problems still persist though: - iMessage receives an error "Could not sign in to iMessage / An error occurred during...

Successfully changed Ethernet to "en0" but App Store still can't verify computer.

"Check again?" Although I can't fault your enthusiasm for reinstalling every time something goes wrong, I'm afraid that this is going to be a last resort for me. I followed every instruction to the tee when I made my installation, and I already did that several times. (Your suggestions...

Successfully changed Ethernet to "en0" but App Store still can't verify computer.

Thanks for the reponse. I found a few tutorials on changing the Serial Number and also editing my system definitions backt o MacPro 3,1. I was able to successfully do both, changing my SN to my original install's SN (where App Store was working fine). However, I am still encountering the...

boot0 error after adding FileVault2 Encryption to Yosemite Startup Drive

Yeah I ended up doing a fresh re-install. I found several other posts on other forums where people ran into other sticky issues after utilizing FileVault2. I figure I'd just encrypt the sensitive data in another drive. FileVault2 is just one option :).
