    Intel HD Graphic Glitch

I think I have made some progress. The problem I referred to would better described by "screen tearing". Also changing the "IGPlatformID".. which is by default set to "0166000A" (which is the ID for mobile iGPUs), caused the login/boot screen problem to go away. Although boot up time...

    Intel HD Graphic Glitch

HD 4000 screen tearing I have had this problem as long as I can think back (Mountain Lion and now in Yosemite, on Lion I have used a dedicated GPU). And it hasn't bothered me a lot because the software I used didn't trigger this problem. But now a lot of the ones I use do. Whenever I run a...

    Handoff (Bluetooth Low Energy) Tester

Too bad. Am I alone thinking that the fact that you can use AirDrop and Handoff only if you have Bluetooth 4.0 is just a reason to make people buy a new Mac? I can't imagine how this makes a technical difference. You should be even able to have AirDrop without Bluetooth at all.

    Handoff (Bluetooth Low Energy) Tester

If you get a usb dongle that supports low energy will the computer then support airdrop from Mac to iOS?

AirDrop - Mac to iOS working?

I just recently upgraded to Yosemite, partly because I wanted to be able to transfer files wirelessly between the computer and the mobile devices. But AirDrop doesn't seem to work for me at all. It doesn't respond at all. Does this work for anyone?

Can't login to iCloud, App Store, iMessage and Facetime

On the admin user iCloud, App Store, iMessage and FaceTime work. But on other users not. This is due to a problem with the network interfaces. Deleting Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/NetworkInterfaces.plist and restarting afterwards solves it.

Apple Releases Logic Pro X Music Production Software

Interesting. Have you done any optimisation? I am running basically with stock settings on Mavericks.

Apple Releases Logic Pro X Music Production Software

Have you tried the Logic Benchmark Test from Gearslutz? --> http://www.gearslutz.com/board/music-computers/371545-logic-pro-multicore-benchmarktest.html Have seen that the new MacPros get up to insane 170 tracks. How may tracks does your system play? Also there are entries with the new...

    Can't find iPad? - Airdrop

Hello, i just recently got an iPad Air and I tried to connect it with my Hackintosh. I have a Airdrop icon in the Finder, but I can't seem to find the iPad. I already have activated it on the iPad. Do I have to do something on the Hackintosh to find it? BT: LogiLink Dongle Wifi...

    Benefit of Mavericks

@baller1308 Yes, multi monitor sounds fine! But my 27" is enough right now. @beelzebubba Yup, things will sort out probably in a couple of weeks or months. But the new features don't seem to be that significant to me (or most people in music).. so it does not matter much.

DAW Compatibility: Don't even **THINK** about upgrading to Mavericks until....

Don't even **THINK** about upgrading to Mavericks.... In other forums I have read that Logic X works just fine, also it appears to be little faster.

    Benefit of Mavericks

Hello, I wonder if there are any benefits in performance compared to Mountain Lion. Obviously features which save battery are not very interesting for Desktop Computers, so are there any others which make the system more responsive. The only one I have found is compressed memory (but I am...

    Starter MAC Build Advice

Looks fine to me. All parts are from the Buyers Guide. Your RAM shouldn't cost much more than 120 if it does I would switch to 1600Mhz, there is not much difference. And maybe settle for a Samsung Pro 840.. If you want one of the best SSDs. For PSU pick a 400W. Actually even 300 would be...

Intel Core i7-4960X vs Intel Core i7-4770K

Well ok some input.. I don't think the 4960X will be necessary. In my experience an i7 can handle a PSD file over 1GB just fine. For photoshop you normally should be ok with an i5 cpu. And those benchmarks are usually don't have much real world value. Because for example: Lets say the 4960X...

    Upgrading hackintosh to Haswell

Basically I would not upgrade because you already have a good rig. Get a new GPU for rendering or so. But if you really want a smaller computer, than look at the buyers guide and pick your parts. But if you really need more power you should go for Ivy-Extreme, 4930k. Upgrading to another i7...

Intel Core i7-4960X vs Intel Core i7-4770K

In which world is the 4960X older than the 4770k? The 4960X is a 1000 dollar server CPU which has just been released, called Ivy-E. Don't spend your money on a 1000 dollar CPU if you don't know exactly what you want/need. Haswell E is coming in a year or later.

Hackintosh purely for design and blender advice

It really depends on how much and often you use blender. Because a GPU can render much faster (only CUDA is now supported), but gaming graphic cards seem to be not very reliable (artefacts and so on), but I cannot tell, I just read it. If you just render a couple of images an overclocked i7...
