It this one. It's from this thread, at the beginning.

    AMD Radeon Navi GPU

I've started to consider buying an extra RX580 - I just bit the bullet and ordered a used RX580 4GB, costed 72EUR. Let's see :)

That's my preferred setting as well. Same behavior.

Check this out (it's a phone photo so I can also get the displays OSD[?] menu) It also shows as 5K, and the real resolution is 3840x2160, OSX res is 2560x14440, in reality it's 1.5x HiDPI, but it's registered as a 2x HiDPI. Weird, did not notice this until now.

You mean there's AMD devs working on the Apple drivers for the new NAVI GPU's ? However, that's good, I was really dreading the thought of buying a 580 until these issues were resolved. Fingers crossed, 1.5hr of usage, 7 hours of standby so far, KP free.

I've installed the profile to be able to update to 10.15.6, I won't though yet, until I test 10.15.5. What do you mean by they are worlds apart ?

Simple tricks I discovered to limit my machine to 3-6 crashes a day is to disable hardware acceleration in Chrome and Slack (Chromium), plus I try to have all my meetings (Hangouts) in Safari, seems to handle better the GPU. Also the notifications are always turned off, say I work on the left...

    AMD Radeon Navi GPU

@shampoo - I get the same errors the 2-3 times I tried to log the crashes. @iDrakus - I tried clearing the hell of all caches, NVRAM, with MacCleaner > Execute All, nothing quite works. I get truly random crashes, sometimes 3 consecutive ones, other times I can work for 5-6 hours without a...

The everything works Asus Z390-I Gaming * i7-8700K * SAPPHIRE NITRO+ Radeon RX Vega 64 Build

I did all of the above, I used GenSMBIOS to create new SMBIOS for iMacPro1,1 and used those codes with your EFI, ModMike's OC EFI, and on each change I'm clearing NVRAM, I'll also try a EXECUTE all in MacOptimizer, and the freezes are still there, today it crashed 4-5 times so far. Thanks...

I'm not so knowledgeable like other around here but I'm guessing it has to do with c states when shutting down, maybe Hackintool can help you identify the issues there Link: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/release-hackintool-v3-x-x.254559/

Yes, with my default EFI, and with your EFI (with SMBIOS changed to my values so I don't reset my iMessage again) It was reset galore :). I also had Intel Power Gadget installed in iMac19,1, and that totally crashes on iMacPro1,1, really weird, had to get it out. That's really weird, do you not...

    AMD Radeon Navi GPU

Yeah, I've been a bit hopeless today, I had like ~20 freezes (switched through modmike's and idrakus's EFIs), and I'm trying to use it as my main work machine. Frustrating as hell. How did you extract those logs, I'm curious to put my fingers on these as well (ssh in while it was frozen and cat...

My happiness was short lived :). I was trying this morning to upload an ipa to app store connect and it froze three times in 30minutes while working around that issue. I'll try to look into this later this evening.

@iDrakus - it's insane. I have a iMacPro1,1 SMBIOS now: - iMessage works much more than before (also able to send SMS, not only iMessage) - no Freeze - Netflix / DRM stuff seems to work (OC EFI) Really nice. I'll have to be content with this for a while, I've spent so so many hours in the past...

Yup, DisplayPort 1.2 is already set from a previous thing with a MacBook. What app did you use to stress test your machine to make it freeze quicker? Now even after I reseted the NVRAM and I'm back to my previous OpenCore EFI I can't manage to make it freeze :))

Nice - I'll try to do this again, (I 'fixed' iMessage sooo many times I'm tired to try it one more time :) ) - but I'll do it, let's see :D

@pastrychef - I'm having exactly @iDrakus 's issues (screen freeze, no KP), but I don't think the problem is entirely related to XMP / Overclocking. I have XMP II profile selected in BIOS, and all the different types of getting stuck have one thing in common, they are display only: - I was in...

The everything works Asus Z390-I Gaming * i7-8700K * SAPPHIRE NITRO+ Radeon RX Vega 64 Build

So, changing from iMac19,1 to iMacPro1,1 is the solution for this, really weird. Maybe only the new iMac Pro's have these GPU's ? Thanks @iDrakus, I'll try this change!

Thanks @iDrakus , I've been on it for the past 3 hrs, no crash yet. Will test it today the whole day. What did you fix ? Before this I switched from Clover to OC because iMessage and Netflix wouldn't work on Clover no matter how much I tried. I got iMessage 'fixed' in the meantime (something's...

YUP!!! Exactly like that, 99% of the time the screen just freezes: - sometimes I can move the cursor - sometimes it shows the loading animation and it keep going forever - sometimes it's like the mouse break in a ton of pixels and you move the whole mush herd on screen - sometimes everything...
