Are you running an old Sandy Bridge system?

I have a core i3 2120 (sandy bridge) and a MSI rx480. My system working on 10.14, seemingly everything is functional for now. Originally I switched to the 14,2 system definition to upgrade, however this gave me (the widely reported) issues with quicklook and preview. I since switched to the mac...

    AMD Radeon RX 480

Unless something changed in the last couple months (always possible...), for the RX 480 cards you'll need to have some other natively supported graphics device that is set to initialize first (set this in your BIOS). In my case, I rely on integrated Intel graphics, which is connected to my...

    AMD Radeon RX 480

I have an MSI Armor 480 4GB card connected via DVI. I had it working well in 10.12.3 (using fake ID 67FF1002 & the kext patches for 36 compute units), yielding Valley benchmarks ~1780-1810 (on extreme HD preset) & a Luxmark score of 13504. After updating to 10.12.4 & Clover to 4049, the card...

New Hackintosh can't select HD as First Boot Device in BIOS

I was having this problem again after a BIOS update, and couldn't remember how I'd fixed it before... you have to set it to ONLY boot from legacy devices (instead of UEFI & legacy)... after that, you should be able to find your desired device in the boot priority list. At least, that's how it...

    Step-by-Step(Gigabyte Z77-DS3H)

what are the several ways you tried, and in what way did they not work?

Huge News! Gigabyte UEFI Sleep/Wake with NO DSDT! [TESTING]

so none of the other audio methods work for you? Well anyway, is your DSDT also defining your P-states? (tbh, I haven't learned how to read / edit DSDTs yet) If it is, you might try removing both the SSDT and the GeneratePStates line. Alternatively, try without the DSDT as I suggested a few...

Huge News! Gigabyte UEFI Sleep/Wake with NO DSDT! [TESTING]

Did you ever try installing the i5 SSDT, changing your chameleon boot file to remove the part about 'Generate P-states', and not using the DSDT all at the same time? That would essentially be how my system is working atm (although with machine macmini def)... you're in 10.7.4 right? as for the...

Huge News! Gigabyte UEFI Sleep/Wake with NO DSDT! [TESTING]

it is really hard to see HW monitor report anything other than the highest or lowest states. grab MSRDumper from the following link (remove underscore so it is insanely mac . com), and use their instructions to load it temporarily: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=258612

Huge News! Gigabyte UEFI Sleep/Wake with NO DSDT! [TESTING]

Sorry, I should have been more specific... what's in your org.chameleon.Boot.plist ? Also, just to be sure, you're using MSRDumper.kext to check your p-states, right? edit: btw, I am actually using the macmini5,1 definition with the i5 SSDT (although I am using an i3 2125 processor), and have...

Huge News! Gigabyte UEFI Sleep/Wake with NO DSDT! [TESTING]

The only other thing I can think of is to see if it works with windows. I was browsing the newegg reviews for this board, and they are pretty lackluster, about half positive and half negative. The negative ones seems most to do with (confusion about?) the overclocking capabilities, and some...

You did a fresh install (e.g., to a blank drive) and sleep still isn't working?

Huge News! Gigabyte UEFI Sleep/Wake with NO DSDT! [TESTING]

I have the same motherboard, different processor, but that shouldn't matter. These are the relevant kexts I have installed that result in the rear audio working fine (although it does give a 'pop' through the speakers when a sound is played and no audio has gone through for a while before that—...

Huge News! Gigabyte UEFI Sleep/Wake with NO DSDT! [TESTING]

you made sure to get rid of all the ALC---.kexts AND the HDAEnabler---.kexts before trying each method? Are you running the system utilities in multibeast each time you screw with kexts? It is my understanding that can be important.

Huge News! Gigabyte UEFI Sleep/Wake with NO DSDT! [TESTING]

for the record, how did you fix your Unibeast issues? borrow another machine? remake the drive? anyhow, vga will not work nicely, and might —maybe— work if you put lots of effort into it, see [success] vga port fix for intel hd 3000. personally, the *only* way I've gotten audio to work is by...

Huge News! Gigabyte UEFI Sleep/Wake with NO DSDT! [TESTING]

I believe it was posted as a fix for the audio, but it seems the multibeast drivers now work properly. At the moment, I'm not aware of any reason to need the dsdt (unless you want to do something like get audio over HDMI... I think that still requires dsdt edits—and, presumably, a dsdt to edit).

    HD3000 -GA Z77-DS3H(+i2500K )- Again and again

Are you using the hdmi output? I finally got an hdmi cable to check hdmi output to tv... didn't repeat this test, but it seems that the 32-bit kernel didn't enable QE/CI hdmi -->hdmi (but does for dvi --> hdmi). However, I took out the 32-bit kernel and turned off the kernel cache, rebooted...

    Installing 10.7 on GA-Z77X-D3H

oh... yeah, sorry. I should have checked your audio before suggesting that... as far as I've read, there is no good way to get audio with VIA chips.

    HD3000 -GA Z77-DS3H(+i2500K )- Again and again

As far as I can tell (from what I read), Snow Leopard (and presumably Lion) will run 64 bit apps quite happily as 64 bit apps, regardless of whether your kernel is 32 bit or 64 bit. I'm not so sure this is a long-term solution however, as I believe Mountain Lion is really truly getting rid of...

    HD3000 -GA Z77-DS3H(+i2500K )- Again and again

the terminal commands did nothing for me, but booting in 32 bit kernel made everything happy. I posted this on the thread focused on this motherboard about a week ago, and here with more details: http://tonymacx86.com/viewtopic.php?f=1 ... 02#p374402

    Bluetooth adapter

I didn't have any luck getting it to work in the BIOS or in the boot loader menu. Aside from that, it does seem to work fine in windows 7 & lion without any setup. Wasn't able to test sleep (long story...) but perhaps tomorrow if you're still interested in it. Apparently for BIOS support you...
