It is great to see and long overdue. It begs the question why motherboard manufacturers ignored thunderbolt for mini itx for so long and installed primarily on atx boards that were already loaded with internal pcie slots.
I must say this is a striking design, it does evoke a few powerful images:

There is an interesting alternative available in Australia GA-Z77MX-D3H-TH, which has dropped to $169. Audio codec is Realtek, with the 2 Thunderbolt ports, an Apple Tbolt LAN adapter is an option.
