GA-Z68XP-UD3 Front USB and USB 3.0 ports don't work

Hey everyone, I've gotten almost everything to work on my GA-Z68XP-UD3 on U1j except for the Etron EJ168 USB 3.0 ports and the front USB port to work. They were working in Yosemite. Also, the bottom two USB 2.0 ports on the back don't work either. I've looked at the 10.11+ USB changes guide...

    GA-Z68XP-UD3 encountering KP with 6850

My computer's HD died, and sadly, it took the Time Machine backup along with it. So, I decided to reinstall 10.8.3 using UniBeast with the same options as before. However, now I can't boot into OS X without using HD2000/3000 and Safe Mode. Booting with just -v gives this error on both...

Need advice on the best possible build for a hackintosh!

If that was the case, Intel would have authorized ASUS's solution. The standard says Intel only authorizes device that meet it's specification or higher, but I don't think ASUS was cutting corners.

Need advice on the best possible build for a hackintosh!

Intel doesn't want others to extend into Thunderbolt chipsets just yet, which may be a reason why Thunderbolt isn't a de facto standard yet. All of the Thunderbolt-authorized devices today are manufactured by either Intel or Apple (with the exception of the new Gigabyte board). Maybe...

GA-Z68XP-UD3 F8 w Saphire 6870 After 10.8 Install Finder Crashes Login Screen Gone

The .exe files should work fine on OS X as they are just extractors, not actual Windows programs. U1g BIOS is supposed to switch the BIOS over to UEFI (Universal Extensible Firmware Interface). UEFI adds support for features not included in typical BIOS such as allowing mice as input devices in...

Upgrading to ML from Lion: Apps Question

If you already installed ML fresh, then I'm pretty sure that you can't restore from a Time Machine Backup of Lion, otherwise ML will be replaced with Lion.

Need advice on the best possible build for a hackintosh!

Ohhh.... That's a problem. Dual CPU is useless in Hackintoshes, only one of the CPUs will be used. For an Apple Cinema Display, you'll need Thunderbolt ports, and the only board I know that has those are GA-Z77X-UP5 TH, and the CPU, you're pretty much limited to an Intel Core i7 3770K. As for a...

    ADVICE NEED REGARDING A CASE

Woah.... You have VERY similar machine to mine. I would recommend getting the Thermaltake Armor A60, it fits all my hardware and I still have room left.

Mountain Lion Success. Dual Boot Question.

How would that help dual boot? You could just set the OS X partition to be the active one and have it boot Chimera from the HDD, why would you need a separate USB? I'm not trying to be rude, I just don't see how the USB idea would help.

    UEFI BIOS for GA-Z68XP-UD3

I was wondering if anyone's had success with U1g BIOS that's supposed to bring UEFI to the mobo in Mountain Lion? Or should I stick with F10 BIOS?

Mountain Lion Success. Dual Boot Question.

If you make a Mountain Lion USB, or UniBeast, however I've had trouble with that, you can use the Disk Utility on the disk to partition your HDD to your specifications. To make a ML USB, you right click your purchased Install OS X Mountain Lion.app and click Show Package Contents Then, under...

Mountain Lion Success. Dual Boot Question.

You need to install Windows BEFORE install OS X otherwise Windows's bootloader will overwrite Chimera, screwing up your OS X installation. If you have another HDD, just disconnect the Windows one then install OS X on the blank one, and reconnect the Windows one. Don't forget to set the OS X HDD...

    Dual-Booting Windows 7 and OS X

    Magic Mouse vs Magic Trackpad

For me, my Logitech Performance MX is what I prefer because it's comfortable and suitable for gaming. However, if I had to choose between the Magic Trackpad and the Magic Mouse, I'd have to go with the Trackpad. To me, a trackpad is more suited for making gestures and all that other stuff. I've...

Booting UniBeast on GA-Z68XP-UD3 rev. 1.0 gives ACPI "Unable to find driver" error

I've got an existing Hackintosh running 10.7.4 and I wanted to upgrade to Mountain Lion. So, I followed the UniBeast guide, but for some reason the installer only copied 7.7 MB of data to my USB drive. Figuring I missed some step, I took the InstallESD.dmg image out of the app (Show Package...

    How about this mothermoard

Hello! Welcome! The DSDT is basically a boot file that is built for your specific PC and allows it to work well with almost all the features working. It's not required, but however, it is a lot more convenient than finding individual kexts that match your system devices, and work better most of...

Problems installing Lion 10.7 - probably due to GTX 550 Ti

Try the UniBeast method. A have both Gigabyte and ASUS mobos running Lion, and you do have the right settings in BIOS. Also try reflashing your BIOS.
